Why do you never debate Alex Jones? I've always wondered.
There is no screw terrorstorm and he gets far less attention from de-bunkers than the soft targets like Avery and fetzer.

Is Perry Logan's website still active? That's a pretty hefty 'Screw Alex Jones' right there.
When I was on USENET, I was told to watch the various 'No Boeing at Pentagon' films. Flaws were found, massive mistakes.
The truth crowd said 'well, its just a short film' what you really need to do is watch Loose Change!
Loose Change was watched. Massive flaws were found, huge mistakes, ridiculous claims were exposed, and Avery was made a fool of in debates.
Before the smoke clear we were told 'Why waste your time with Loose Change? That's kids stuff! You really want to impress us then take on the Scholars for 911 truth!
So our attention turned to the Scholars. They were found to be absurd, their claims failed to hold water. Their leaders had feats of clay. Jones was shown to be wrong, Wood incompetent, and Fetzer just plain made statements that were ludicrous. The Scholars split into factions.
The troother's (the same ones who cheered with Fetzer declared he would beat the hijackers to death with his luggade) said 'Fetzers' a lightweight', 'he doesn't represent the movement', they whined.
And so the attention turned to others, but it had been on them the whole time.
Why don't you do a search of this very forum for the antics of Alex Jones?

You can't lose an argument if you are wrong, unless you pick on soft targets like avery and bermas who are young and in-experienced.
Again hypocracy by de-bunkers, if someone is shouting all you have to do is wait for the rant to end then make your points.

alex jones doesn't debate. he just yells ****. that's not debating. he doesn't make arguments. i'm sure that if alex jones would agree to debate, someone would be willing to debate him. but it would need to be a controlled, moderated debate, where he'd automatically forfeit if he "debated" as we've seen him do so many times.
many here would love to debate him, i'm sure. alex just doesn't know how to debate. that's what it comes down to.

Agreed but i would still like to see Alex Jones debating roberts, I'm no fan of jones I recently listened to his 9/11/01 show and was appalled by his insinuation that the EU was behind the attacks (amongst others) his net of liability was cast over a very wide area and his rantings, well quite frankly absurd.

Let's walk through it, shall we?
You can't lose an argument if you are wrong, unless you pick on soft targets like avery and bermas who are young and in-experienced.
The first part of this statement says, "You can't lose an argument if you are wrong" (emphasis mine). Now that's is just plain weird. How does this work?
argument + wrong = win!
But then you go on to say, "unless you pick on soft targets".
argument + wrong + soft target = lose!
And yet you're claiming that "we" only won "our" arguments against the Loosers because they are "soft targets".
I believe what you were actually trying to insult us with was, "You can't win an argument if you are wrong, unless you pick on soft targets like avery and bermas who are young and in-experienced."
argument + wrong = lose!
argument + wrong + soft target = win!
Logic and language do go together...

Jones should seek to debate, not the other way round.
It doesn't matter much to normal people that Jones makes a living off of gullible 'truthers'.
But if he was serious about his beliefs he would want to confront naysayers and try to convince them with his arguments.
So, where is Alex Jones? Why doesn't he visit here? Why doesn't Alex Jones contact Ronald Weick and ask to come on his show to discuss his beliefs?
He doesn't because away from the controlled environment of his own show he is without the comfort of an audience of believers.
So, instead of asking that question here, why don't you, jackchit, pop over to austin and ask Jones yourself?
I'm sure flights are affordable... £485 on Virgin, if you don't mind economy.

EU? thats a new one, i know jones was blaming the US government for "the next big terror attack" in june of 2001 though
and thats my biggest problem with him, even today he says the next big attack will be false flag, he decides guilt before the crime is even committed

It is worth noting that Gravy has not responded to this thread, and as such you don't actually have his answer as to whether he would debate Alex Jones in a Hardfire Debate.
This does not mean that he is ignoring the issue. It may very well be that he can't even see this thread - if he has you on ignore that is by no means a stretch to imagine (and it may well be that he has you on ignore).
We cannot speak for Gravy - this is not some sort of organisations with Mark as CEO, Ron as Head of Publicity and Enigma as head of our Crotch-grabbing department. If you want an answer, the only one who can provide it is Mark.
Incidentally, Mark has confronted Alex before - the video should be up on Google video, if someone here can provide the link?

I was invited to the Alex Jones show several months ago, because "Alex Jones was interested in why a Canadian would be defending the US President", according to the words of the email. The reason why I refused to join is because I know Alex Jones' style and simply put, he isn't a debater. He refuses to allow the other side speak (he even admits that this is a "debate tactic" to Jason Bermas/Dylan Avery in one of the LC's vanity videos).
Why would I waste my time to someone who is fixed on the idea that the government must be behind any attacks to the United States and has been known to lie and manipulate his "sources" ?
Consider this, on Mother's day in 2001, Alex Jones was bullhorning mothers who were marching for stricter gun control, calling them "Nazis" and telling the kids there that their mothers are lying to them. Let's not forget Alex Jones immediately stated on the first day of the attack that this was an inside job, so he is working backwards of a true scientific invesitgation. Last but not least, he did use holocaust deniers like Chris Bollyn and Eric Hufschmid as his sources during the early years of 9/11 denial.
Sorry, I refuse to debate with a madman.

Ok why the apparent lack of de-bunking of his work?
i and others have debunked a few of his claims from a few of his movies. the reason there's not been a completed, organized debunking of even just one of his videos, is, well, simply: time and effort.
when i watch a 911 CT video, or even an alex jones video, it takes over a week, unless i'm already familiar with all the evidence. everytime a new claim is made, i have to pause the video and apply scrutiny.
i was actually working on a debunking of terrorstorm, and nothing would make me happier than finishing... except for getting my BS in geology. and having money.
the problem, jack, is that this debunking takes time and effort.
seriously, i think you should try to debunk an alex jones video, or any other 911 CT video. i can tell you that if you are interested, there are a number of factual innacuraies in terrorstorm. some are quite disgusting, really. you should watch it through, and attempt to debunk it yourself. this would help you to exercise your own abilities to fact check, and to grow an appreciation for the time and effort that others put into attempting to protect innocent folk from being lied to.

I had a brief look at terrorstorm. The reason there is no "Screw Terrorstorm" is due to the lack of specific claims made by Jones throughout the movie. He also gets off to a very slow start, and fails to make a claim regarding 9/11 for a good while. And if I remember correctly, the whole movie isn't even about 9/11.
As for debating Jones, I can see why people wouldn't want to. Not wanting to debate someone because they honestly consider yelling at people and shutting their mic off a "debate tactic" is understandable. It's the people who say "I won't debate you because I am too good" that the people around here have a problem with.

i think a debate with jones would require:
1. a preplanned schedule of topics.
2. a required format; jones makes his case, the opponent can respond. jones can contest the response. a thrid party fact checker could be present to confirm truth claims. that way, when jones, say, claims that the jews were warned of 911, the fact checker could confirm that jones' sources ACTUALLY confirm that the jews were sent anti semetic threats.
without some sort of structure, we all know-- including the CTers-- exactly what would happen. jones would spit out 10 crazy truth claims in 10 seconds, and then yell "911 was an inside" job as the opponent attempted to address him.
and that's how all 911 CT debates should go, i think. after my experiences of dealing with these guys in the last couple weeks, i understand that you need to hold them to a schedule. you need to have a list of arguments that they are allowed to argue. it's useless otherwise, because as you explain to them why their claim is incorrect, they throw out 10 more. "what about wtc 7?", "what about the fbi admitting that it has no evidence that osama was behind the attacks?", "what about..."
useless, useless, useless...
out talking another doesn't actually help your case. it just shows that you have no grasp of how to obtain an accurate position.

Mark Roberts has already debated him, in person, and was thoroughly successful.
All of his claims have been addressed, just as every other 9/11 CTer's claims have been addressed. ALL 9/11 CT claims have been addressed.
It is not about "debunking an individual". It is about correcting the factual errors. If all of the errors in an Alex Jones video have already been addressed, why waste effort re-addressing them?

The other thing that Jones does that would be hard to deal with in a debate is he makes up sources on the fly. If you've ever heard his show, you'll see he does this every few minutes:
"This is documented, folks. FEMA is building a concentration camp in Nebraska right now. USA Today, April 15th of last year. Look it up. I mean, this isn't rocket science, folks..."
Then you go pull that edition of the USA today, and you see a story about how FEMA is having an office remodeled in Nebraska.
So what that other guy said about the fact checker is right. Jones will quote dozens of sources. They just don't say what he claims they do.

That video is the best, the leaders of the twoofer movement get owned by Metrocards at about 7 minutes in. All a conspiracy to keep them from the "press conference." At 8:12 Dylan believes the subway "smells like victory." This video is gold for showing who these nutcases are.

Exactly. Alex Jones is crazier than the Crazy Cat Lady on The Simpsons.

He's easy to debunk, but he doesn't accept that he's been debunked and continues bantering on with the same old crap. He doesn't take a hint, and he has a fanbase which follow him like sheep.
I don't see how that makes him any different from any other twoofer.

I just wondered as he is such a popular guy with truthers why he doesn't get the attention from de-bunkers that avery and bermas gets.

The madd hatter rarely gets the attention of anyone but the police.
That said, Ron, if your goal is to bring out the truth movement leaders and show them for the morons they are, bringing Alex on your show might do just that. I doubt it would do anything else though, except for maybe bringing about a fist fight between Mark and Alex...lol

Why do you never debate Alex Jones? I've always wondered.
There is no screw terrorstorm and he gets far less attention from de-bunkers than the soft targets like Avery and fetzer.
Just asking.
JAQ, this is it, then you tell us why you do not like Alex Jones. Why not tell us what you think on the first post instead of making a pulling teeth post typical of the most truthers.?
Plus, like already pointed out there are 40 threads already out there which you could have researched about Alex Jones right here and you could of commented on them, instead of asking questions you could research and make comments. But truthers have a habit of JAQs.

From memory he has had a lot of his 9/11 arguements pulled apart in the forum and in documentation about the web. You should do a search of the forum and read Marks paper on WTC 7. There is a video of him being cooked at GZ by Mark Roberts anyway. All jones does is try to rally troops by yelling over him.
Just because you have not seen it happen does not mean it hasn't.
Must evidence and facts be presented on you tube before its considered viable? Who cares if there is no Anti-terrorstorm movie. Why is there no 'Screw Screw loose change' movie then?

I think that was Pagan, not JackChit. True, JC can't find his way around very well, either, but I believe there have been about forty messages moved around over the past few days, by the mods - and rightly so, and Pagan couldn't wrap his arms around the moves. JC don't care! He'll just keep posting his ad-homs. (But it's about 04:30 in the UK - he may be sleeping.)

A question: There are a number of people here who have said they WOULD debate Alex Jones. So why do you say that we won't?
As for your Alex Jones multiple choice...
A. He is insane
B. you are scared
C. he shouts a lot
D. you cannot debunk him
E. he won't debate you
Those apply to Alex Jones, certainly. But as people here have said that they will debate him, it seems a bit silly to say that they are reasons people would not debate him...
I notice roberts has not chipped in, too busy trying to discredit me eh gravy?
Actually, as I pointed out to you already (you must have missed my post), I believe Gravy has you on ignore - not unreasonable considering previous event. He may not even know this thread exists. I would suggest that personal attacks are not the way to go here.
So, you now have some people telling you that they will debate Alex Jones. The question is, will you put your money where your mouth is and now contact him to see if he is as willing?

for someone who claims people steal his account and post as him, your doing a good job showing us who those 'mysterious' people are.
Why write that Roberts tripe? keep that crap to yourself and stick to the OP you started
I wont debate Alex Jones as I would end up in a physical fight. Thats not anything to do with the facts, its because he is rude and arrogant and yells at you. HE THINKS YELLING IS A DEBATE TACTIC. There is so much my ears and sanity would take.
Do you think yelling is a fair tactic? Is that what you do to get your point across? I would be amazed if you thought so.
To refine the point though:
A. He is insane - yes
B. you (assume JREF Forumites) are scared - no, but how did you guage that from the posts?
C. he shouts a lot - yes, you dont think its rude?
D. you (assume JREF Forumites) cannot debunk him - yes we can look: Alex Jones is wrong
E. he won't debate you - he will but only on his Orwellian terms. A real debate he wont have a bar of.
You know all this so stop being childish with posts like this. I thought you were an adult?
