I've always found the belief in this practice to be one of the most bizarre of them all, even more so than homeopathy. The notion that just by holding something your body can tell whether it is good or not for you and will considerably weaken as a result is mindblowing! Check out this post, it is so full of crap (literally) the author has to be a raving lunatic. Has to...

From the article:
"It's my belief that all autoimmune diseases get their start from a leaky gut. Once Mr. Leaky Gut rears his ugly head, we acquire an onset of Allergies"
Mr. Leaky Gut? Gosh, that's super scientific, now ain't it?

Uggh... MORE leaky gut stuff...
A disease called "celiac sprue" is, I believe, probably where all this "leaky gut" nonsense started. This is an inflammtory condition in some people who are allergic to a particular protein found in gluten. The suggestion that all autoimmune diseases are the result of "leaky gut" is so completely asinine that it borders on infuriating to me! When are we going to start holding the denizens of such misinformative websites accountable for posting this garbage on the Internet?!??!??
Legitimate muscle testing is done by EMG, edrophonium challenge, or other medical tests. The rest of this is hogwash.

If the unlikely event ever arises that S.H.A.P.E. and I are trapped together on a deserted island with unusual plants and animals for food, remind me to adopt a different approach to determining food intolerance...
Jam a couple of handfuls in their mouth...
It would result in a win/win situation

My girlfriend got referred to one of these quacks by her doctor (she didn't realize the person was a quack until she got examined). The woman held a green light up to her neck and then started pushing down on my girlfriend's arm. She declared that my GF had a bacterial infection and insisted on prescribing antibiotics (my GF's health issue is viral in nature). She also prescribed collidial silver!! Other 'tests' were conducted, with some very stupid results - either contrary to what is known about my GF's health or generic 'you have toxins in your body'.
What was cool about it is my GF immediately started challenging the woman's claims. She didn't put up w/ any of it. The woman redid the muscle test 'to be sure', and my girlfriend pointed out (rather strenously) that the woman was pushing down harder when doing the bacterial test. "It just feels that way to you" was the woman's snotty response.
This makes me angry in two ways: one, that probably most people who visit this woman have no idea that she is a quack; second, my GF was very gung-ho about meeting w/ this woman because she had been told that she was a specialist that has done a lot of good things for people w/ my GF's condition. She is feeling very let down, and pretty angry at the doctor who made the referral.
