svchost.exe error

Beginning yesterday, a number of users in our company including myself started getting a message of "svchost.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being generated." This occurs when trying to connect to our VPN. Although the error is generated, you can connect once to the VPN. You cannot reconnect after logging out since the icon doesnt function and going to the Networking folder and right clicking on the connection creates an unknown error. Also, the system will now not let you disconnect from the ISP either. Rebooting solves the problem sometimes.

Anyone have any experience with the cause of this problem?

You and everyone else (and their uncle too) are being attacked by MSBlaster.

Get the patch at Micro$oft. Look for article ms03-026. Or better yet, just check the 'mass hack' thread in this forum.

Thanks so much. I suspected thats what it was but I have not read the actual error the worm causes.
