Ok, I got what pillory was saying.. Quiet ingenious.. Rest of you, here's the explanation:

Pillory is saying he is suffering from a mental disease. He also says he knows telepathy is real - that is he can hear thoughts of someone else. The person he knows who can transmit the thoughts is not him - he's referring to his mental disease alter ego.

He can hear things in his head which are not from him (they are from the mental disease alter ego).
