Now, as I understand it, polonium-210 is a high grade type of radiation that is used by people in high positions. At 'best' it is evidence for high-level involvement, at worst it is mearly speculation.
That said, it is far more plausible than the woo conspiracies, given that Putin is actually a shady man who was actually a member of the KGB, a real orginisation with iffy ties, not a frat-boy drinking club at harvard.
So, why is this not interesting enough for the waco's?
Also, speculation on Putin involvement?

From the way that stuff seemed to be handled, we should just start looking around for Russians whose hands are rotting off from radiation poisoning.

It's in the land far away for the most of them, there is not much information and not many interesting details, no videos, photos nor quotes to twist. There is no material to build an exciting movement on. There is just the speculation and they yawn at this. There are no bombs and missing debris!

I hadn't heard that they had brought charges against someone in this case. I'll be quite interested to see how this plays out.

Why is it that these 'sexy assasinations' from the East always happen in London? Poison tipped umbrella etc..

Not so much. Polonium-210 is relatively safe to handle because the radiating particles are too big to penetrate epidermal skin:
It cannot pass through the skin, and must be ingested or inhaled into the body to cause damage. And because the radiation has a very short range, it only harms nearby tissue.

Easier to film it as part of a Bond movie or something like that?
Anyhow, according to the woos, Russia isn't a police state at all! Anything that happens in another country is because of the American government distracting everyone but the woos from the real crimes they're committing, mainly 9/11...

I would suggest that, if the Twoofers took up this conspiracy theme with all the tact, charm and merry abandonment that they embrace 9/11 with, then they would rapidly disappear (Mr Putin would deny any involvement and have an alibi anyway). Them Russians play rather hard.

That BBC article is a little fearmongering:
What is polonium-210?
It is a naturally occurring radioactive material that emits highly hazardous alpha (positively charged) particles.
That's not entirely true although it is factually accurate. The two types of radiation produced by decay are alpha and beta and both are relatively harmless in low quantities unless ingested.
Indeed a little known fact is that many types of smoke detector contain an alpha emitter in order to test ionisation of the air. I've heard rumours they can't be shipped by air because of this but I have no idea how true that is.
Regardless this is a fascinating conspiracy, not least because of the obscure and relatively convoluted way of poisoning their target.
edit for clarity: There are at least 4 types of decay I know of, but alpha and beta are by far the most common.

Well, [rule8]. Nobody in the trailer park has ever heard of Litveneko, and you guys know too much. Can't win...
I mean, that's what I meant. They were so clumsy that they could even mess up a Polonium-210 assassination, duh!
I mean...

The boy scout who built a nuclear reactor in his shed dismantled hundreds of smoke alarms to get the Americium. He got the radium off antique clock dials.

I suspect part of the reason is because the current Russian government is not closely allied with the US. If Russia had a relationship with the US similar to that of the UK or Israel, they'd be all over it, and somehow all roads would lead directly to Bush, or at least Cheney.

The Russian's are refusing to hand him over..... I wonder why? Could he know something they don't want told, like who order the hit?

Which also makes it far easier to smuggle in.
