Just another "see how simple it really is without resorting to gloom and doom" solution to GW?AGW.
1. Double the number of nuclear plants.
2. Use excess capacity in said plants to power plants producing hydrogen peroxide 90%. Yes like we've used in rocket belts and rocket race cars. Now off peak load capacity has a useful function, so a large percentage of electric power can be nuclear.
3. Mandate all cars be converted to run on h2o2 monopropellant. Somewhat less bang for a gallon than gas or ethanol, so what? Probably work better than hybrid and way simpler.
4. CO2 emissions of nuclear plants. Zero.
5. Emissions of peroxide powered cars: O2 and H2O.
End of story. And every home has a jetpack or two just for grins.

Hydrogen peroxide will decompose all by itself- it doesn't require a spark or a flame like gasoline does (it doesn't even require a catalyst, although there's a very large number of things that will catalyse the reaction, including metal oxides). So there's no good way to prevent your fuel from waiting until you're ready to drive somewhere.
Concentrated hydrogen peroxide is an extremely strong oxidizing agent.
I wouldn't want the stuff kicking around, or in the hands of your average yokel. If someone spills some gasoline in his garage, you let the garage air out and it's fine. If you spill concentrated hydrogen peroxide, it will likely find something organic around and either start a fire or explode.

And if global warming still exists, what then?

Move north. Its our only hope.
As the Sahara shrinks and disappears and forests and rivers reestablish themselves in Central North Africa as they did during the Holocene maximum, we can only begin to wonder what Africans will do with the newly cultivable space.
Of course, we won't get anywhere near to the Holocene Maximum but its nice to dream what would happen as the forests of Africa continue their endless march northwards and southwards,

#1. I'm all about nuclear power, but even doubling the plants will not have excess capacity. If you go for 10X the nuke plants now, you might be looking at some excess capacity to make some major car fuel.
#2. Hydrogen peroxide that you use for cleaning wounds and stuff... that is like 3% hydrogen peroxide. if you used 90% it would clean the flesh off of your bones. I can think of few things I'd want to drive around with less than hydrogen peroxide
#3. Rocketbelts for everyone? Rocketbelts look like fun, but you only get 30 seconds or so of flight before the fuel runs out. Also, the oxidizing effects of h2o2 are the least of the safety hazards... Not exactly a practical form of transportation

But think of all the fun...
