Well they're hopeless at solving crimes and no help at all in finding missing children, but fingers and claws crossed that this psychic can successfully tune in to the wavelength of a missing Amazon Green...

He's "dwelling near trees" apparently!

From the story: "The psychic told owners Joyce and Peter Mearns, of North Road, Holloway, that the blue fronted Amazon Green could be lured home with a pink toy. The initially sceptical couple were stunned - because the parrot, called Georgie, had doted on a pink teddy bear from birth."
"

My GOD! Randi better start writting out that $1M check, what are the odds a fake could guess that a parrot would peck at a toy; let alone possibly be in the nearby trees (mentioned further in the story). What more proof would be needed??

How sad...while not a child, another family being cheated out of time, money, and hope; it never ends.

Initially sceptical, but readily gullible. It's probably pinin' for the fjoooords.

ETA - it shouldn't be too hard to spot: It's got arms!!!

I remember when my sister died I was crying - he came and gave me a hug to cheer me up.

I saw a green parrot in Peckham Rye twice a couple of weeks ago. I would say it looked the same, but let's be honest, they all do.

And it was near trees.

THEY DO NOT!

Some are red, some green, some blue, some black, some multicolor, some big, some little. You, you, birdist you!

Nick and I communicate psychically all the time. I can "sense" when she's hungry, when she wants a shower, when she wants to play. The fact that she sits on her food dish looking at me, dances on top of her cage, or lands on my nose has nothing to do with it!

Why did I just think of Tobbie the Commie?

Mrs Mearns is convinced Georgie - who loves drinking tea and has his own plasma TV, stereo and bedroom back at home - may yet be found.

I've been trying to think of something witty to say...but I can't think of anything. It's just weird...and wrong.

Melissa: You really love animals, don't you?

Ace Ventura: If it gets cold enough.

I don't think birds should drink tea.

I belong to an internet list for people with epileptic canines. A few months back, the list owner's dog disappeared and the woman feared the dog had either been taken, or that a construction worker had left her gate open and the dog had wandered away. She lives in a small town in New Mexico, and the local area surrounding the town is quite rugged with lots of canyons. To make matters worse, the dog needed meds for her epipelsy, so the owner was quite frantic.

I was amazed how many people sent posts trying to direct her to use an animal psychic, sent her referrals to animal psychics, and claimed to have used animal psychics in the past. I was new to the group at the time, and found this advice so disturbing I was on the verge of removing my name from the list.

Much to my surprise and great relief, the owner of the missing dog as well as her partner and others directly involved with her, very quickly told everyone not to send any more information relating to psychics, that she wasn't interested in pursuing anything in that area, and that she was spending her time in more productive ways. She never did find her beloved dog, but I gave her a lot of credit for standing her ground and dealing with her situation in a more rational way. If only there were more people like her.
