Loose Change rears its ugly little head in the article.
Sounds like theres quite a debate going on down there.

At first glance I read it as "muff diver". I need to pay attention better.

Thats soooooooo funny. The guy he replaced basically was asked to step down by his own congregation because he was too controversial.

Yep the previous incumbent liked to refer to rape victims as uncovered meat who were "asking for it".

I was going to jump on this bandwagon temporarily, but do you have ANY idea how hard it is to find a usable headshot (pun not intended but conceded nevertheless) of Peter North?:D

What a moron. Bin laden admitted it. Even half the conspiracy idiots accept this.

This is the first I've heard of this. It worries me, a lot. The senior Muslim cleric in my country is an apologist for Al Qeada? Look out Gumboot, I might have to move over the Tasman.

Calm down, Brainache, lets not say anything we can't take back...

A common belief among radical Muslims seems to be: "America attacked itself on 9/11...and they deserved it because of their foreign policy."

I'm really not surprised. A lot of Muslims are Al Qaeda apologists.

Yeah, but it's a bit worrying when the top Muslim does it.
I posted a comment on the Daily Telegraph's page:
Your comment has been published:
People here have mentioned Terrorstorm and Loose Change as if these two videos have anything legitimate to say about world politics. That shocks me. How has it come to this, that people accept such drivel as truth? These videos are made by charlatans out to exploit gullible people for profit. There is tons of evidence refuting every single claim made by these people(try 911 myths.com or screwloosechange), but the conspiracy nuts just ignore it and pull their tinfoil hats on a little tighter. I wonder if the mufti believes in the no-plane theory or the energy beam weapon theory of the destruction of the WTC? Will this new Mufti be the first to wear a tinfoil turban?

It is very worrying. However he doesn't have as much influence as he claims because the body that appointed him is only open to Lebanese Muslims not the broader Muslim community.

By the flaming nostrils of Gzortch!! We get rid of one 12th century loony to replace him with another?!? Bah! At least this new one is in his 80's. Hopefully he won't be in the position too long. Maybe we can get someone intelligent next.
Cheers,

It's a political position effectively, so he will be playing the political game with his powerbase, namely the radical Muslim community. And I suspect they are few and far between here.
