Mr. Wizard (http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2003745404_mrwizardobit13.html) is gone--probably the greatest influence in science education in the 50's died at 89. Anyone else always look forward to his shows every week? I couldn't wait--he made it so exciting, and so simple!
IS Bill Nye filling his shoes well?

Don Herbert was the man. I was slightly too young (imagine that!) to get into his original series that ended in 1965. I loved the show he did in 1971 for a season. And I occasionally caught the Nickleodeon series.
Next to going into space, the coolest thing in the world would have been to be the kid on his show.
