As of the 19th of June, it has been a year since I first came to these forums. A year since I tentatively ducked my head into the world of 9/11 CT Debunking.

I wanted to take this opportunity to salute my fellow debunkers. Aside from the wealth of knowledge I have collected here, I have also thoroughly enjoyed myself. You are a funny lot... :D

When I first came here, my initial task was to work my way through the two enormous "Loose Change" threads that dominated the General Skepticism and Paranormal Subforum. The day I joined the third volume of this thread was created.

Since then, the 9/11 CTs have grown to the point that the forum management team gave us our own subforum. Certainly, it's not just a 9/11 CT forum, but we know why it was created... ;)

In a year the lies and deceits of the truth movement have been exposed before my eyes. I have laughed at their stupidity and ignorance, and then shook my head in wonder, and then cried. I have grown immune to the tragedy of 9/11 repeatedly, only to have the full human horror suddenly come crashing back upon me.

I have watched conspiracy theorist after conspiracy theorist shatter their spears of delusion upon the shields of our critical thinking. I have been at turns entertained and stunned by the arguments presented here by some of the legendary truthers. Despite their bannings, I even miss some of them.

I've seen the gradual fracturing of the truth movement, and the exponentially increasing rate of crazy. I look forward to another year.

Gumboot, at the rate they are going, you will need to start looking for a new CT to work on, before the next year is out.

The Twoofers look as though they are crumbling like dried out leaves - another few puffs of the cold winds of reality and they will all fall and be scattered...

Happy anniversary, and thank you!
We have ordered NORAD to turn off selected radar units today so that a map of its CONUS radar coverage will spell "Go gumboot!" in Morse code: a subtle but fitting tribute.

Congrats on the one year gumboot :)We used to walk 9 miles every day and night, to and from our keyboards, uphill each way.

At least you had a hill. We used to have to build our own.

We'd work at the quarry face for 16 hours to drill the rock, then we'd haul it over 10 miles of hot coals and use it to build the hill as we went. I had to get up each morning 3 hours before I went to bed.

And the wind was always in our faces, outside the troofers did yowel.

I'm a truther and I'm okay
I type all night
And sleep all day

He's a truther and he's okay
Hey types all night
And he sleeps all day

I cut down science
I spey my rubbish
I get arrested at ground zero

He cuts down science
He spews his rubbish
He gets arrested at ground zero

Apologies to Monty :(

Must have been nice to have hot coals to walk upon. We had to stoke our own coals if we wanted anything but cold, hard charcoal upon which to walk. AND you were able to DRILL the rock?! Pfft. We'd be there days gnawing the boulders loose with our teeth just for the privilege of hauling them 20 miles to build our own hill.

You had teeth?

Luxury.

Kudos on a year of fighting for the truth, and not the "Truth"!
