REAL STORY
Two countries are at war for some time. Much death and destruction has happened on both sides for years. Lets name them A and B country. One clear morning two extraordinary but confirmed incidents happen that could be considered miracles :
1. A picture of a religious figure of a woman in a damp room in a small town, in a certain province of country A starts “weeping”. The same day a little girl that was hit hard by a car in the same town survives after long hours of surgery.
2. A great “ball of fire” blasts a major city of country B obliterating in a flash of heat tens of thousands of lives and buildings and leading in a few days to the unconditional surrender of country B.

You left out the option of "I do not believe either is a miracle."

I don't understand you point. I can't believe it that there are people out there thinking like you do.
(joking of course...)

You forgot:
3: None of the above.
1. Pictures do not ' weep '.. So there is a rational explanation for this.
People are hit by cars everyday, and continue to live after undergoing surgery.
2. Actually, this was the 2nd big blast of this nature. Surrender was probably a good move, in light of an imminent 3rd blast.
However, surrender after the 1st blast, would probably have received the vote of everyone on the receiving end of the
2nd blast, had they been given the opportunity.

Hehe you forget that this is just a theoritical question. I am well aware of both facts.
:D
My point is that, even today, way too many fellow-citizens who accept "Miracle 2" as "Normal" still want/need/choose to believe "Miracle 1" as "Genuine".
Isn't this way of thinking an oxymoron ?
