The description says the phenomenon has been witnessed and captured on video by several people, and even though they show the object from different angles, the video they show all have the same focus and the color never changes. It's a nice trick and makes for an interesting story.

If I had known my last vacation would cause such trouble, I would have stayed at home *goes to polish broomstick* ;)

Is it hard to get a broomstick pilot's license?

Easier than a normal pilot's license :p

Yeah :) I loved how the policemen got so scared they needed medical attention.

Damn my acolytes! There great will punishment for abusing the grand power of the arbatel.
Seriously though this is just... really sad. I hope that astronomer had more to say and was just edited to make a witch/ufo story. I guess they don't' have many balloons in Mexico? :p

Apparently the Ministry of Magic couldn't perform their memory-altering hexes fast enough. Things were better when Dumbledore was around:(.

You know, I found this story entertaining - seriously! Until that joker showed up and started talking about how it was "probably an extraterrestrial with a personal vehicle". Damned UFO nuts, they can't keep their paws off such a charming story.

Wow, witches are much slower than I was expecting. It's more of a Satanic invalid carriage than a broomstick...

Easily explained...
It was the Baron Vladimir Harkonnen!

Remote Mexican villages? They're talking about the Santa Caterina district of the west side of Monterrey, the third largest city in Mexico!

Looked to me like something sliding along a clothesline.
Other than that, it's pretty convincing!

It's black with a pointy hat! That's conclusive for the Mehican Police and means it's a real witch for sure. The fact it looked like something being pulled along a line has no bearing on this startling fact.
Anyway, since when did UFO believers become experts to be consulted in cases of witchcraft?

Soo...policemen in Mexico are terrified of persons in witch costumes? Good to know next time you want to commit a bank robbery in Mexico City! :)

I had no idea Mexican TV had it's own televised version of the Weekly World News.

"The officer recieved medical attention after what he said was an attack by a witch." I would really, really love to hear him elaborate on the details of this "attack." Did she come swooping out of the sky at him on her broom? Shoot fireballs at him from her fingertips? Send her legions of flying monkeys after him? Or did the attack consist of the "witch" hovering slowly toward his general direction?

Perhaps I should clarify further.
OP = Opening Post i.e. first post.
Post = message on an internet forum thread.
Thread = oh, never mind. At least he's broken free of his own thread.

Good Gravy! That's got to be one of the lamest attempts to fool people that i've seen in a while. The point that it fooled so many is cause for concern. "When it comes to the unknown, anything is possible". Yeah, duh, even a prankster?

I liked the astronomer woman putting on the antenna and challenging people to prove she wasn't an alien LOL.

How will we know whether they're witches if nobody lights them on fire?

:D Not quite but, sadly, we do have our share of UFO-logy programmes and plenty of TV psychics :( Beware of anything that has de name "Jaime Maussán" linked to it!
In this case, though, the so-called news programme "Primer Impacto" happens to be broadcast by the US TV company Univision (who are related to Mexican TV giant Televisa). In Mexico you can only watch their programmes if you have cable-TV. Not that Mexican TV news never show this type of "unexplained" events but this one video in particular doesn't seem to have had much echo in the more serious news programmes (as far as I can tell, being miles away at the moment).

I SWEAR it wasn't me! Besides, only irresponsible witches doesn't use the broom-positioning lights.....:p

It seems that a good fire hose would be an adequate defense.

Fire hose? No need. I'm pretty sure I could walk faster than that witch if I put my mind to it, and if I broke into a bit of a jog I'd leave her standing. Lets see her use her pointy hat and long fingers then!

Primer Impacto actually has no in common with tabloid news shows like Inside Edition. ;)
