Psychic IQ Test! (http://www.psychics.co.uk/psychictests/psychiciq.html)
Only 12 questions. The best part is after you finish, you are provided "reasoning" for the answers. My score was a 22 sadly, my aim was a 0 so I must have messed up.

I got a 22 also. You should read the, "thinking behind the answers," at the end.

I scored 18 points!
"12 to 20 points You've a long way to go. You're as psychic as a rice pudding"
According to the test results. But, I knew that! So... am I psychic anyway then? ;)

13's my tally. Apparently, I'm "as psychic as a rice pudding."
This pleases me tremendously because at least I can spell and have a decent command of grammar, something these woo-woos seem to have great trouble with — in much the same way as they do with the laws of nature.
ETA: …as well as those of statistics.ANSWER 11: However, some sceptics have ESP abilities whether they like it or not and score significantly below chance in card tests. If no ESP were involved they would have only achieve (sic) a chance score.See? Could anyone score a zero with this kind of reasoning?

Good news, I'm "Not bad. You're probably quite psychic" at 25 :D .

Q6: When playing board games involving chance do you:
A: Loose despite being careful.
B: Find that you're quite lucky?
C: Enjoy taking risks and feel that you influence the dice in your favour?
I generally wait for a break in the game before going to the toilet.

Valid scores range from 12 to 36. You get either 1, 2, or 3 points per question. I successfully scored 12 points! :)
It was pretty easy though...

Stupid thing is copyrighted so I can't post the full material but look at the "reasoning" for answer twelve.
Q12: When you gaze at cumulus clouds do you:
A: See the shapes of faces
B: See a multitude of changing pictures
C: See clouds.
Answer 12
Psychic people can often visually project images into random shapes. Scrying, sand reading, and tea leaf reading all employ this technique.
EeneyMinnieMoe

I see alot of images in the clouds but that has nothing to do with being psychic.
Pure bs...not that anyone on here needs to be told that.

I liked the fact that you score points for believing in it... since "it's a load of tripe", only scores you one point. Apparently even woos know it only works is you believe in it.
I also really despised the fact that with the baby, your first 2 choices are either "let someone else care" or "I wake up just before the baby needs feeding" (the third is to absurd to even mention).
I answered that I ussually wake up right before the baby needs feeding, since he starts crying when he wants feeding, strict technically this is before he actually really needs feeding. Nothing to do with being psychic though.

Sweet hay seuss, I'm psychic! I scored 25.
Meaning:
I'm very perceptive and see minute (read: very small) details in events, actions and people that might otherwise go unnoticed by many individuals, and by perceiving those details I deduce outcomes, events and causes almost as if I have some magical ability, which I don't actaully have.

Well, it was pretty easy to work out how to get a maximum or a minimum score. But if I really wanted to answer the questions honestly, I ran into problems. For Q6, none of the answers was suitable:
Q6: When playing board games involving chance do you:
A: Loose [sic] despite being careful.
B: Find that you're quite lucky?
C: Enjoy taking risks and feel that you influence the dice in your favour?
My reply is "none of the above. I find I may win or lose: it just depends on chance"
And what about Q8?
Q8: Are you:
A: Logical and systematic in your thinking?
B: Have good innovative ideas?
C: Extremely creative and artistic?
I wanted to reply yes to A, B and C, but the stupid quiz wouldn't let me :bearangry:

The "thoughts" behind the scoring are a very nice example of woo thinking: Nearly no matter what you answer, it is interpreted in favor of ESP.

16 for me. I think a couple of my points came from Q9 where the true answer would have been "none of the above" ...
Q9: With new born babies do you:
A: Leave the care to someone else?
B: Wake from sleep just before they need feeding?
C: Know when an absent baby is upset?
That appears to say you can either be:
A: Lazy
B: A bit woo
C: A lot woo

Q1: When the phone rings do you:
A: Sometimes know exactly who's unexpectedly calling?
B: Often make a guess at who's calling?
C: Never think about who it may be?
A. As I have Caller ID.
(If I was psychic it wouldn't be unexpected now would it??).

I got a whopping 21, so I'm quite psychic actually. I'm not sure whether to use my powers for good or evil yet, I suppose I'll just have to play it by ear and see where I can make the most money.
I love the explanations, the guy who wrote it could easily win the JREF million if he could prove any of his babble. The explanation for the first question states that experiments have shown that telepathy works over any distance. Best dig out that data and win the cash, eh?

I love this:

Wait. We have experiments that show telepathy?
No, no. Read it more carefully :D It never says telepathy works. It's like this the whole way through. Whoever wrote this is apparently permanently stuck in overly general woo-speak mode.
I got 28, being very literal.
For example
Q1: When the phone rings do you:
A: Sometimes know exactly who's unexpectedly calling?
B: Often make a guess at who's calling?
C: Never think about who it may be?
Sometimes is a great word. Or
Q7: When you meet someone for the first time do you:
A: Form an immediate assessment of their personality?
B: Guess what they are really like?
C: Reserve judgement?
I almost always form an immediate assessment of someone's personality. Who doesn't? It doesn't say anything about this assessment being accurate.

Since I have no newborn (NOT "new born") babies and never have, I HAVE to leave the care to someone else. If I brought them home to take care of them myself, I think I'd get arrested.
I scored 24: "Not bad. You're probably quite psychic." Does that mean no rice pudding?

Psychic people can often visually project images into random shapes. Scrying, sand reading, and tea leaf reading all employ this technique.
... so they're ADMITTING that scrying, sand reading, and tea leaf reading are nothing more than Pareidolia, then.

Sorry for ranting on but...
On Answer 5 there seems to be some strange claims:
"In 1977 researcher John Palmer examined every single published experiment on neuroticism and ESP. He demonstrated that highly neurotic people were poor ESP subjects and optimists scored better results"
What a load of bovine manure! The Answer 4 is not so well "researched" either (imho :D )
Anyone know anything about this?

It is begging for a little creative editing:
This
is the "thinking" behind the scores
Q10: When you sleep do you:
A: Dream in colour?
B: Never dream?
C: Occasionally dream of past events that happen in reality?
Experiments have shown that those who believe their imagination are more likely to believe they are psychic
Q9: With new born babies do you:
A: Leave the care to someone else?
B: Wake from sleep just before they need feeding?
C: Know when an absent baby is upset?
Answer B. My kids had me well trained.
Thanks for this gem of a quiz. Though the thread title is also probably accurate

"Psychic IQ test - If you think you can improve your psychic abilities, then you are stupid enough to be rooked by us"Yup, the possible scores run from 12 to 36 inclusive, an IQ range that was once well within the bracket of "idiot," a term medical science no longer uses.
