BAGHDAD -- Authorities with the U.S.-led occupation have begun a covert campaign to recruit and train agents with the once-dreaded Iraqi intelligence service to help identify resistance to U.S. forces...
I think this effort could go awry.

Why does this sound like what Malachi talks about when the US hired formor Nazis against the Communists?

I think when LukeT started a post that he was against the war, it was his fear that stuff like this would happen that prompted it. We aren't taking very good care of the Iraquis, and who remembers Afghanistan?

Just out of curiosity... Has anyone heard rumours of something similar happening at the UN building in Baghdad that was bombed?

I had heard on TV that the UN hired former Iraqi security personnel, and they may have assisted the bombers (by pointing out the location of their target, etc.)

So the US may not be the only one pulling boneheaded choices in personnel.
