The past Wednesday, I was pleasantly suprised to tune into one of the local NPR stations in the middle of *gasp!* a show on philosophy. Evidently, these 2 Stanford guys hyjacked the airwaves during the time usually reserved for the show "Car Talk" and began preaching about the ethics of fibbing. Okay, maybe that wasn't very funny, but believe me when I say the show itself was delightful. "Philosophy Talk" is being billed as "The show that questions everything except your intelligence." Wednesday was the debute program, but the show does not begin airing regularly until the start of next year. In the mean time, surf on over to this page (http://www-csli.stanford.edu/~john/Philosophy_Talk.html) for more information. So far, I don't know of any other stations except KALW that will be carrying it. I think they are actively looking for other stations who might be interested in picking it up. So call up your local public radio station and bust out that checkbook for a pledge!

disclaimer: I am not affiliated with KALW or NPR in any capacity except as a semi-regular listener.
