View Full Version : Hey Al Qaeda, you're being betrayed!

Can't the US ever keep a secret? (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/iraq/article2121006.ece) Why annouce this to the world's media and let them know that they have spung a massive leak. Sheeze...

To cause dissension in the ranks, and breed mistrust among those allied against us?

Every time a "safe house" gets raided they know they've been betrayed. And al Qaeda is well aware they've worn out their welcome in many Sunni areas.

Why publicize it? Scare them into abandoning a safe area and force them into a new area, where they may be exposed. Guerrilla fighters on the move are much more vulnerable than those who are staying put in a hiding place. Embolden other potential informants into coming forward, as they know they're not alone.

Just 2 reasons, much more to be sure.

I agree with you. OPSEC is a lost art.

Just 2 reasons, much more to be sure.

Saddling opposing planning cells with a burdensome level of compartmentalization.

Protecting intelligence sources and methods by providing a ready-made cover story.

Just two more reasons...

The war against Al Qaeda could have been handled much better. People just don't like living under a bunch of fanatic lunatics. Afghanistan may have been winnable if the conflict was confined to just that country.

Oh, yes - there is. I booked two tickets for the Simpsons Movie on Saturday. If I don't get the tickets, I tell ya - all Hell will break loose and the World will experience what Terrorism is. I'm not kidding here - that's an immediate terror threat.

I am sure that the people living in Iraq would warmly welcome such news; perhaps you would be kind enough to go there and tell them about it yourself.

... someone's sarcasm detector is broken.

Besides, I'm wondering if AQ will resort to more drastic methods for security now.

Pardalis doesn't live in Canada, he lives in Quebec. (j/k Pardalis) ;)
There has been a publication ban on the training camps busted in Ontario almost from day one*:

I guess because they were caught before they could blow up something means there is no threat Oliver?
Wake up!

Oliver has committed a logical fallacy. Just because people die from other reasons doesn't dismiss a real threat.
Good luck to his family with that kind of reasoning.

Oh yeah, and there is a 1000 times bigger threat to get killed in traffic in Canada,
or get eaten up by a Grizzly.

Please don't forget to change your pants every day. [/sarcasm]

Do you look when you cross the road Oliver, or just step out?
There are higher chances you will die of something else.
Do you just choose the highest possibilities, and ignore the rest?

You didn't address that there are al quaeda cells in Canada.
Will you apologise to Pardalis?

No, but I don't crap into my pants every time there is a thunderstorm.
Please don't argue this isn't a real threat - you know, there are actually people dying because of lightning, every Week.

Oh, and in contrast to Terror-Attacks, this also happened in Canada already. http://www.freesmileys.org/emo/scared011.gif

I suppose that you have no idea that Montreal was a recruiting ground for the camps in Afghanistan.
Canada is the perfect fermenting ground, as we are very unlikely to inhibit free speech, and accept refugees from anywhere, on any grounds.

Oh, and lightning is a threat. Do you dance in the fields in the storm?
Don't answer that. I have a good idea.
From now on, we in Canada will just lay down and take the terrorist threat as nothing. No surveillance, no intelligence (you should like that one), no legal ramifications.
Are you, or have you ever been, Oliver, a member of Al Qaeda?
Because they're recruiting here. Seems like you have a lot of time on your hands.

No, I don't dance naked in Fields, well - at least not in Storms. However - I also don't use to publish an Article in our Countries Nr.1 News-Paper with the Headline: "Terrorists, why do you spare us?".

This lousy Bunch of Wanna-Be Terrorists? No, I never joined them and since even Bush isn't that concerned about them, they don't seem to be a threat anyway - besides the new Propaganda-Strategy to convince the Public that Al Qaida is a threat in Iraq now and they might been able to swim across the pacific to scare Pardalis. :boggled:

You have no trust in your System, do you?

I tried, it doesn't work...

Right, because this isn't the CT-Subforum. :p
