Hi all, long time listener, first time caller. :)
I was cruising around YouTube last night, passing away some slow time at work when I stumbled across a video that had me rolling my eyes.
It was a highly compressed video of a woman with subtley morphing features. There no denying that her features WERE morphing in the video, but it was hard to catch until the creators of the video slowed it down to a frame-by-frame "analysis".
I replied to the video. I mentioned that I suspected the video was doctored with some kind of video special effects program and then compressed to all hell. My reply never made it on the site. The person who posted the video never approved it, but less than 15 minutes after I replied, this appeared in the comments section from the person who posted the video:
"We deleted a couple of posts that were, well, let's just say unconstructive and abusive. Folks, we approve posts even if they are negative (as you can plainly see) as long as they are reasonably clean and fair. If you think the images are the result of fakery, lighting, etc., feel free to take us up on the $2500. Duplicate it if you can, we couldn't, and we work in video."
Unconstructive and ABUSIVE? I was neither of the sort! I posted a fairly reasonable GUESS as to how it was done, (because it sure as FSM ain't REAL). And I have a feeling that $2500 is as imaginary as reptile women.
Anyway, I guess I was hoping somebody here might have access to equipment to reproduce the video ... because I don't. And if not, I thought it might be good to post it here and see reactions from you fine, rational folks. :D
I can't post URLs, yet, 'cuz I'm still a n00b. If you go to YouTube and search for Reptile Woman, though, you'll find it.

I find it interesting that in this day and age the film quality is so awfully bad. Oh, and absolutely no claim as to who made the video or when.
I guess this means that every Hollywood movie with "computer special effects" was actually showing the REAL THING. After, all "No one" could recreate those effects!

Their page, more fun videos.
"At present we have on our team a demonologist, a magician, a computer hacker, a cryptozoologist, a ufologist, a paleantologist, and a forensic investigator."
Sounds like the paranormal A-Team!
Skreeonk,
Having read through a few of their video commentaries (My IQ dropped 5 points), I have noticed you are not the only one that has been edited out. And yet they state that they are sure the video will "suppressed", while doing the same on their own comments page (Although erratically).

That was your first mistake ;)

You have a feeling it's imaginary? Maybe you can be a little more certain? :)
And as far as the FSM, it must be real, as I've seen it many times next to the Meineke Auto.

I LOVE YouTube. :) It provides me many timewasting hours when work is especially slow. I also post my own videos there from time to time. (I'd post a link, but I'm still too n00by.)
Thanks for the welcome, by the way. :)

I didn't see anything really, maybe my screen is too dark? Someone else saw these effects they are talking about?
Why would a reptile woman have cat eyes?
They seem to want show how honest and skeptic they are by debunking the demon apparition that is really a snack bag, as if anyone can't see that  so that we are suppose to add more credibility to the rest of the crap they are saying. I don't know if they do it consciously or not, but I have noticed this many times with people like that. They debunk themselves on some minor point in order to add credibility to the rest of their claims. That's not how it works!
It's also good for them that they remembered to mention that the girl might not even be aware she is possessed by a reptilian demon, then, if she were to step forward, she can't simply state she isn't! How practical. And they know that reptilian demon possession works this way... how?

If you watch it a few times, you'll begin to notice the morphing effects. They're subtle, but they're definitely there. The easiest one to spot is when they say, "DID YOU SEE THE BOUNCING BALL BEHIND HER?" Watch her face. They replay it over and over.
Oh, today I posted another comment that is surely going to be screened out. I told the poster to send the video to the JREF if they're so sure it's authentic. "Claim the $1 million," I said, I said. I'm sure Randi will be contacted soon. TOTALLY sure.

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to crank up the brightness of my screen a bit and go watch that again at the spot you mention :)

schizophrenia, pareidolia, and/or human tendency to make stuff up-- with these things all pieces of bad film footage will show reptile people, cat eyes, Bigfoots (feet), Nessie.
I'm sure that with cell phone videos we will get more of these sightings... but fewer UFOs and Bigfoots and Nessies (they never appear when anyone has a nice clear camera, ya' know.
High tech delusion of oneself.

This really is the stupidest thing i've seen on the net in a long time. And i've frequented the Loose Change forums a fair bit.

Well - until David Icke confirms this I don't see how anybody could be certain. :)

I just checked the video. Sure enough, my reply didn't make it. (Shock!)
The video poster did have this to say:
Again, if you think this video is the result of bad camerawork or fraudulent in any way, don't be all rude, and rip us a new hole here, or attack other people who post comments, it *WILL* be deleted. Instead, show us! We are putting our money where our mouth is. This area is for serious discussion, there is no reason to disrespect the people here.

It's only for serious discussion about people who morph into cat-eyed reptiles during their daily activities.

yeah they deleted my comment as well. i linked to a much better example of video morphing done by some teenager who openly admits he was just playing around with some video effects. check it out: http://youtube.com/watch?v=FcVOybuFP7w
i love the way they keep saying 'there is no way that this could be due to bad lighting or poor quality' which is true but they never mention that it could and is due to someone playing around with a few video affects. nothing to do with lighting though

Hi,
long-time reader, first posting, non-native speaker (eh, writer) so please don't hurt me ;)
With that out of the way, there are a few additional things i've noticed about the video that have not been mentioned before.
1) The overwhelming amount of YouTube videos runs far smoother than this one. It looks more like a series of photos in fast sequence instead of a video recording. Of course, this makes it far easier to photoshop something into it, because there's just a single frame that needs to be modified.
2) (This was actually mentioned before: ) It's been "compressed to death". If there were any traces of bad editing (seams, color fringes etc.), they've become unrecognisable due to it.
3) It's been produce by someone/a group that is actively involved with MMORPG, i.e. roleplaying. Even the URL is starships-rpg.com
4) Disagreeing comments on the video at YouTube seem not to survive long.
This has led to some comments along the lines of "fakery, stupid" etc. However, my first (and currently still remaining) impression after watching the video is a little less towards the "bad woo fake" but more towards "a badly executed try at viral marketing for a Sci-Fi-Fantasy-themed online roleplaying website". This could explain (4) - because (for LARPers) if you enjoy running around in the middle of the woods with a rubber sword, a wig, latex ears and chain mail pretending to be an Elven warrior, chances are you don't want to hear comments that "burst your bubble" like "No, that's not Eowyn Greenleaves, that's Smith from the marketing department making a fool of himself." :D

Some mental midget noticed that low resolution video is loaded with digital "noise" and artifacting. So they slow-scan through the noise and imagine they see demons. They post a video on YouTube, knowing that other mental midgets will gullibly deceived. LOL. Welcome to the modern age.
