Judge Moore, in his infinite redneck stupidity, proclaimed:
"This is not about religion, its about god!"
Are southerns just born stupid are do they have to practice at it really, really hard?
Seriously, isn't there something that the judicial system can do to this complete moron?

I'll assume the generalization was intended as a joke. I can't fault you for that since I posted the words to Warren Zevon's Play it all night long in another thread...
Yes, I understand that Moore is being brought up before some kind of jucicial ethics panel for his failure to follow court orders from a higher court.
There's a long thread going on this topic in the Current Events forum, with some excellent contributions from Brown, AmateurScientist (a lawyer in Alabama) and others.

It's not just the south, alas. Stupid people are everywhere.
It's a stupid comment, but it's not nearly a stupid as "Freedom of religion doesn't mean freedom from religion" mouthed by Joe Lieberman who is definately not from the south.

Could you supply a link to an article with that quote? I'd like to send it to a few people.

Sometimes though it is hard to separate the stupid from those who would exploit the stupid, as they often say the same thing.
I do not think Joe Lieberman is anywhere near sub par on an I. Q. range.

Fair enough. I guess you have to have a certain amount of intelligence to be as big a weasel as he is.

This case "is not about a monument, it's not about religion," Moore said. "It's about the acknowledgment of Almighty God."
