UFO Sighting in Denmark (with video)

On Wednesday 25th of July, a UFO was observed over Munkebo on the island of Fuen.

The position is approximately 55.4567 N 10.5552 E Frankly, I don't see much there. It's just a red dot. I apologize for the lousy quality.

According to the article, the couple went out to look at a stork that resides in the area (it's a rare bird around here.) The couple, who prefer to remain anonymous, say it wasn't a flare and neither was it a meteor. It went (what I'm guessing is) WNW towards Kerteminde, later. This assuming that they're facing south.

What I can make out from the audio is the male voice instructing her to "take 10, 20 pictures", to which she responds that she's recording [video]. I can't make out the rest due to wind noise.

Also, it first appeared to me that the light was changing colour, but the background and the outermost two terrestrial lights change with it, so I guess it's the camera's whitebalance going wonky.

A non-starter. The report is from a very local paper. But then again, with the exhaustive list of two possibilities ruled out, it sure looks as if it's a spaceship!

I've only been to Sweden twice (for actually going there), but I've driven through it a lot of times to visit my brother on Bornholm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bornholm).

Who video-taped this? What was the time, and what was the weather like?

I have the lat. and lon. but that doesn't help me figure out when any of the surrounding features are from the camera's point of view.

I don't see anything but lights in the sky. (If the sky is where I am even looking.)

It's too difficult to guess what I'm supposed to be looking at, let alone identify whatever it is.

Here are some more answers: The obseservation was done around 10:40pm, near the place I marked on the map.

Another couple has also come forward, saying they observed the light around 10:45pm. They said the light "moved very fast past the windows, there were no engine noise and it moved kinda in circles." The object disappeared towards the East, towards the town of Kerteminde. Kerteminde is almost due East from the "Second couple"-placemark.

Also, the object is not the faint red dot I originally thought it was, it's the big, bright thing, casting a reflection on the water.

Like I said, I made a map in Google Earth, with the approximate video-taping area marked off.

The attached file, "UFO-Denmark.txt" is a KML-file, ready to import into Google Earth. Just change the file-extension to .KML and you should be ready to go.

I apologize, chran, but I was unable to translate the Danish web page. I do know that the witnesses were facing south, but I was unaware that the object itself was moving.

Now that I am sure what to focus on in the video, it makes sense in regard to the scale referenced on the map. I also see that the weather was moderately fair at the time.

Was anyone able to figure an approximate altitude?

Were the witnesses (the first couple) able to record any movement on the tape? Moreover, were they able to film it when it vanished from sight? These are two very important pieces of data without which would make the object much harder to identify.

(It is a personal caveat of mine is to avoid having to rely on eyewitness reports unless it is absolutely necessary.)

I’m just reluctant to postulate anything based solely on the footage provided because it’s so brief. I wish I had more to look at.

Well Jason, I have no answers for you, but I found out what it wasn't.

It wasn't the full moon, 'cos there was a full moon here yesterday so a week ago there certainly wouldn't have been.
