View Full Version : Scumbag of the day
Charlie Monoxide

In Vancouver, a retired doctor was giving $5 each day to a (presumably) homeless man that was in a church for 5 straight days. On the 6th day, the homeless (scumbag), decided that $5 wasn't enough and assaulted and robbed the elderly donor.

Not to speak ill of the good doctor, but someone needed to get the cops to chase the beggar out. He'd apparently been harassing people for weeks but no one actually complained.

If he hadn't given him $5 each day, maybe he wouldn't have come back. No good deed ever goes unpunished.

I think no one complained because begging/panhandling is so pervasive in downtown Vancouver. On most major streets in the area you'll either be asked for change, or see someone with a hat out, 1-3 times per block. The area around that church would be no exception (and the fact that they had cameras for parishoner safety in-and-of itself suggests that the area had some problems).
Some other beggar will be there the next day taking the other guy's place.
