Here's my problem: The soap dispenser in my bathroom has flooded my counter with soap.

It's a regular soft soap dispenser, I haven't got a camera, otherwise I'd supply a picture. It's one where you press down on the spigot on top, and the soap comes out because pressing down on this spigot operates the pumping mechanism.

Hm... Soap dispensers are really hard to describe!

At any rate, The resevoir for the soap in not leaking, I've checked that by plugging the spigot and sqeezing. The resevoir is made of flexible plastic, so if there was any leak I should have seen it then. When I saw that it had flooded I noticed that there was a little soap solidified on the end of the spigot, and I figured that this was the smoking gun.

So, unless I accidentally started puming out copious amounts of soap in the night and then went back to sleep without any memory of doing so (unlikely) the soap dispenser has started dispensing soap without my prior consent, and through means to which I am entirely ignorant. Being a curious fellow (that's what they say when my back is turned at any rate) I'm wondering if anyone knows why my soap dispenser, after years of trusty servace would suddenly decide to flood my counter.

Does anyone know how this could have happened here?

Edit: I put this here because it seemed pretty paranormal to me, although it could just as easily have gone into science.

Got any pets/other people in your dwelling?

Either that or you are a sleep soap-pumper.
:)
