Yeah, I know it's tragic and I know this guy is emotional, but come on! How the heck do you rescue dead people?


"I will not leave this mine until those men are rescued, dead or alive," he said at a news conference outside the Crandall Canyon Mine.

I'm sure he has really buoyed up the hopes of the family with a statement like that.

On the other hand, isn't it time for Sylvia Browne to weigh in on this? After all, she's an expert in predicting who survives a mine collapse (http://www.stopsylviabrowne.com/articles/c2c_sago.shtml).

There's no link to the original quote, but I'm WAGing that it's from a rescue worker where the terms "rescue" and "recovery" have slightly different meanings. I bet he means that there will be a rescue op in place until they reach the trapped miners and no consideration of downgrading to recovery mode.
