View Full Version : What is Sylvia Browne saying about the miners?

Just wanted to post this before the correct answer is known. Has anyone heard if she has said if the Utah miners are alive or dead?
On the drive home I heard they have almost drilled through the rock with a 2" hole, they plan on lowering a camera to see if they are alive or dead.
I would think that Browne is keeping pretty silent on this one, the odds are that they are dead because no one hears any tapping which they are trained to if trapped. Yet on the other hand, if they are where they think they are, they should have plenty of water and air to last days.
I don't know how she can get out of this one except to not say anything.

I have received a few emails asking me if Browne has weighed in on this issue, and, to my knowledge, she has not.

She'll say nothing unless she gets an early scoop on the news.
I think this time she'll wait a little longer than that before making her prediction. Say, in a book she writes in a few years.

She'll say, "Yeah, I knew that's what happened, you know what I mean?"
And then she'll scratch herself.

Maybe I'm being naive, but isn't it possible to get that question to her now so that her answer is on the record. I know she isn't a politician who is forced to answer questions in front of the press. But isn't she speaking somewhere now, so that someone could ask her a unexpected question like this one?
If confronted she must have some kind of plan? "It's in god's hands now", or "I really don't want to say anything without someone paying me". I mean what could she possibly say....maybe, "if one of the family were to contact me I would speak personality to them." knowing fully well that the family is a bit busy right now.

Well you would know better than I would on that. I thought she was still making appearances somewhere? Didn't I see a thread about her in Las Vegas or something? Can't Larry King contact her for an update? What does her goslyviabrowne site say?
It's almost too late now, the news reports don't look good for the miners. Pretty soon now she can resurface and say that they will all be found dead. But they were happy about it and have been watching all the search efforts and felt really good about it.
Disgusted....really....

Yes, she is doing her shtick in Vegas, but it does not allow for much in the way of asking her questions.
Can't Larry King contact her for an update?
He could try, but as I said, she hasn't made any media appearances (other than Montel) since Shawn Hornbeck's rescue.
What does her goslyviabrowne site say?
It's a gushing fan site. I no longer have an account there, but from what I hear, it still doesn't say much beyond gushing about her.

I suspect that she will be able to confidently predict that people are lost in a mine, possibly in Utah (near a body of water, under a big rock, etc.).

Last time she weighed in on a miner accident it bit her in the butt. I bet her silence is intentional.

Yeah, she should just stay away from mines.
I guess someone could still harrass her with calls to her radio show. Does she still have that?

Yes, she is still doing some lectures, trying Vegas, but you don't see her on "news" shows such as Larry King, AC360 and the like since she CAN NOT defend herself, or her actions.
Montel Williams is a publicity outlet for SB, nothing more, nothing less. It allows her to reach a large audience for free to sell her books, and to try to pack her lectures and cruises.
As for her gosylviabrowne website, I have been told that the posting has slowed down, many have left, there has been a schism between those loyal to the common law daughter-in-law and others, and that several people have left the site. I know there is someone on here who monitors that, and I was sent a post where one of the gsb members even stated that the postings had dropped off dramatically during their "Civil War" on the site.
I was informed that early next year will be SB's last cruise, so maybe she is losing business, people are losing interest in her, and it is becoming harder to pack the cruise, the lectures (possible reason to "test" Las Vegas), especially when doing a search for SB throws up RSL's site so frequently.
I think she has learned that too many people are watching everything she does, so she knows she can't just throw things out there anymore, which is a victory in and of itself. She never could have predicted the day that every word she says would be proven false on that damned internet blog thing

True the site is slowly slowing down, but there is still a lot of life left in it. In the last 9.5 days or so 85 people have made 150 posts per day. The good news it is that it is a long time since anyone joined and started posted there.

Its looking more and more likely that Sylvia Browne will start speaking out now. Some slush about how much they appreciate the effort to find their bodies.
It is almost certain that they are all killed. Have you noticed how uncomfortable people IRL are when you say things like this without adding something comforting like "but I hope they prove me wrong" or some such statement.
My friend started on me to tell me, "but I'm sure you really hope they will be found alive...." I said, "will it change the outcome if I hope or not?" he said that our mutual friend was going to pray about it that night. So I said "so, if they are found dead then it is all her fault?".
Sorry...just a bit off topic.

And this time, if she predicted they're all dead, she'd have the odds on her side. At this point, it's pretty doubtful there will be any survivors.
These guys are 18,000 feet down. The ones where Sylvia famously put her foot in her mouth when the erroneous news report broke into Art Bell's show were only 300 feet down.

Ooops---I meant 1800 feet down. About 6 times deeper. Also, no one's heard any rapping or any other sign of survivors.

While a tad off topic, a valid point & something Randi (and others) have raised before. "God" will let miners die, or people die in hurricanes, etc. but has time to help that singer or sports star (ie. "First, I just want to thank God...").
I don't think SB will say anything until they are found, and then simply mention it in passing on a Montel appearance as a after the fact statement...which in time will become a "she correctly predicted they would be found dead" line. While that line won't win any new belivers, the current crowd will buy it.

Of course people overlook the obvious missing component in these. Sylvia didn't predict the disaster in the first place. If one could determine whether the miners were alive or dead, they'd also be able to see the much larger event of the mine disaster itself. She makes yearly predictions. And yet no one seems to notice that the big disasters, that she post-hoc comments on, she never predicts. What usefulness is their in this kind of "talent"?
Here's the line of reasoning.
"I never specifically predict big events, however, when they do occur, I can then make predictions as to possible outcomes. However, I'm not always right (ok I'm mostly not right but lets not focus on that)"
How many other lines of work exist where this would be acceptable, hell, even "impressive"?

True. Unfortunately she won’t be on live radio or TV. This means she learned from her previous mistake of being on live TV when something’s happening. And fortunately for her, the next Montel appearance is a repeat.
Still, I’d love for her to put her foot in her mouth on another national broadcast.

Too late for that. She knows that the vast majority of what she does is totally unprovable one way or another and useless to someone like Robert- except what she says on live TV in a situation where there is going to be an unpredictable outcome.
So no more mines. Too bad she doesn't alltogether quit missing persons and homicide cases, too, for the same reason.

Read through Robert's site. Montel has been deaf and dumb to any thought of not supporting Sylvia or having her on his show. She's quite a cash... uh... cow to his show.

I predict the miners are fine, just fine.
(by fine, I mean that if alive, they are fine, but if they are dead, they are fine and in the arms of the lord, and that I will be contacting them shortly, just as soon as the families can line up the credit to pay me)

She's mailing herself letters that say "the Utah miners are dead" and the "Utah miners are alive"...
Then she'll prove that she knew in advance by proffering her prediction postmarked before the fact. :) And then all who future books will tell people how she correctly predicted the outcome.
Make sure everyone knows about all the hits and none of the misses, eh? It's funny, but sad-- when she misses she acts like that was one of the "rare" times she does.

Reading though the posts it looks like we Robert is having an affect. If Robert had not started his site then Sylvia would still be going on TV live, her Wednesday's show would not be repeats. HateLove to think about what that is doing to her income. Even better what about other psychics' incomes? Both present and future.

I agree, Robert's website is having an affect - however, SB is often rerun on Wednesday. When she flies to NYC to tape shows with Montel, she doesn't tape enough shows to cover each Wednesday live. And Montel has been re-running her shows as well as his other shows, especially during the summer months, for several years.

But how many shows are not re-runs compared to last year?
We in Australia do not get Montel. We Australians are much more sceptical than that.

Well according to the news this morning it looks like the rescue efforts have been halted. 3 are dead trying to rescue the original 6. Several others are injured.
If Sylvia had only let them know. By trying to rescue the 6, more will be killed. Gosh....why doesn't she warn them. Can they sue her?

Well...SB is busy with her show in Vegas, so she does not have time to relay the word of God (as told by her spirit guide) for such minor things like saving lives.
