The great British adventurer is a living breed, as we find Blashford-Snell pushing forward the frontiers of knowledge, without, we are assured, the use of gin & tonic.

"I was sober at the time..."

In commemoration of these marvelous events, a contemporary of Blashford-Snell, a certain Reverend Earl T Greybags has been persuaded to pen a celebratory verse, which I have great pleasure in quoting in full:
Deep in the rainforest Colonel Blashford-Snell dozes,
On his iPod a fine symphony of Berlioz's -
When out of the jungle's gloom,
Comes a horrible omen of doom,
Oh Lordy! It's a dog with two noses!
