How would you rank them, from left to 'right' wing? In other words, put them in order from left to right in their political views.

None of them are well enough known to rank in any fashion beyond "rank".
Sad, too. SOMEBODY reasonable needs to run for Pres.

America is sooooo polarized right now. Depending on what you mean by "reasonable", it may not be possible for a reasonable person to get elected.

I fear you're right. I could do with Arlen Spector, for instance, but I doubt he'll bother, since the 'pubs won't even consider somebody who holds civil rights up as valuable.
I'm not sure I know who I'd pick on the democratic side, I have to admit I find the democrats hard to even look at.

Unless the Democrats nominate a complete ogre, I will probably vote for the Democrats for the sole purpose of getting GWB out. I pretty much had my fill of the guy starting with the election.
I'm really curious how history will view Bush. I have a feeling it won't be in a good light.

I fear that's probably the same path I'll take.
I'd really LIKE to have an option I'd like. Not sure who I'd come up with nowadays.
If I could pick from recent history:
Millicent Fenwick for Pres.
Barry Goldwater for VP.
They're both dead, though. They're also both staunch Republicans, except for a year or so for Barry when the Arizona party tossed him out.
They had two of the best BS detectors in the known universe, hence part of my appreciation for them.

I feel about the same. It's a pity the two-party system with a primary disfavors centrists.

After the 2000 presedential election (if it can be called that) I pretty much said, "I don't mind if Bush gets the job, because the economy is headed for the crapper anyway." I figured whoever won would be a one-term president. How much damage could he do in four years anyway? Well, my question was answered in the worst possible way. Thanks to 9/11, Bush got great poll numbers and apparently he figured he could do anything he wanted. Even now, it is going to take a lot of work and luck to unseat what would have normally been a sitting duck, based on the economy, the environment, the loss of freedoms, the failure to do anything about Enron et. al. and pretty much everything else. But because of out "patriotism", Bush enjoys a totally undeserved approval rating. I hope that somebody... anybody... can get this dangerous person out of the White House. It is hard to imagine that we could have a worse president/administration.

Since when are you concerned with loss of freedoms? I seems to remember you arguing in favor of gun control and against tax cuts.

Well, according to this chart (http://members.bellatlantic.net/~vze3fs8i/air/pres2004.html), if Bush orders the use of nuclear weapons, his electability rating will go up to 165 and no one could beat him. :D
