This site also features actual video clips.

Following are excerpts from a TV report on the heavy metal scene in Tehran, which aired on Channel 2 of Iranian TV on August 12, 2007.

...

Hairstylist: Some people dye [their hair]. Some are heavy metal fans, and others are devil worshippers.

Reporter: Devil worship originated in England in the 19th century. It is supported by Jewish and America capitalists. Drug use and depraved sexual rituals are part of the daily life of devil worshippers.

Whoa! You're way off! Heavy Metal in Tehran is The Starland Vocal Band - remember Afternoon Delight? (They're a little behind the times)

Wow. Before now, I was under the impression that the only heavy metal in Tehran was enriched uranium.

But isn't "hairstylist" saying that some are heavy metal fans and others are devil worshippers? This strongly suggests to me that those who are heavy metal fans are not devil worshippers.

If they make their main interviewee a hair dresser, it seems they're 20-25 years behind. Probably listening to Poison, Faster Pussycat, Europe and those kind of bands. Maybe Stryper from their muslim phase.

I knew it!

depraved sexual rituals are part of the daily life of devil worshippers.

I find this lifestyle intriguing. Do you have a brochure?

It may be easier just to go on the Devil Worship Carnival Cruise Line Theme Voyage.

"The first time I cut my hair this way and went to my friends, they laughed at me."

But not the second time? I guess that's progress in the world of fashion.

Iranian youth: The first time I cut my hair this way and went to my friends, they laughed at me.

There's something endearing about this quote, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Stryper had a Muslim phase? (insert Heavy Metal Gimmickry version of Poe's Law here)

Anyway, it could just as easily be Iron Maiden... :D

That must have been their album Seventh Shi'a of a Seventh Shi'a with the tracks: Muslims in the Rue Mosque, Charlotte the Harbis, Run to the Jihad, Die with Your Jihab On and Jannah Can Wait.

North Korea is one of the scariest societies on the planet. The level of indoctrination going on is almost Orwellian.
