Seattle was lucky enough to host the original cast for Mel Brooks' latest stage adaptation. I was lucky enough to have a friend to shell out the major money I couldn't spend on 12th row seats!!!!

I can't recommend this enough to New Yorkers when it makes it's Broadway debut in the coming weeks.

The songs are.......well, PRICELESS as you'd expect from Mel Brooks. "Don't Touch Me" and "Together Again For the First Time" stick in my memory. "Deep Love" is now my own personal anthem, as good as "I'm Tired" from Blazing Saddles, will definitely be a classic.

The cast was fantastic, the script, acting, everything is wonderful. Spectacular special effects. (Major epilepsy alert, though) Besides all that amazing stuff, it is scattered with pin up quality blond eye candy in beautifully luscious costumes. Go for the lower seating....you'll miss the garter belt and more peekaboo action from the balcony!

If you want a fun night out at the theater, guaranteed laughs and songs you'll be singing often...this one is a must see.

I certainly hope Roger Bart will still be doing the lead when you see it. He did a few Gene Wilderesque screams, but not so much that it was copying, more a wonderful homage. He was excellent!

That's another good argument for going to NYC next summer.

Did the actor in the Igor roll perform as well as Marty Feldman? (What hump?)

I can't wait to see this but I bet it's going to be quite difficult to get seats for at least the first year.

Oh THAT GUY WAS AWESOME. (Runs for program.....)

One of my favorites in the cast. Real personality. Not like Feldman's at all, made it his own, but, very well done.

ETA: Got the program-Christopher Fitzgerald is the actor who did the original cast. If he sticks around, it will be great stuff.

Also of note, at first I was really disappointed that Andrea Martin (of SCTV fame and a million other credits) was out sick. I have to say the understudy who replaced her made me forget quite quickly. She was very Chloris Leachman.

Definitely! I don't own many DVD's but that's one of the classics that I own (along with Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail!). Oh Sweet Mysteries of Love! ;)
