View Full Version : A Little Story

So I was over at the LC Forums again, browsing the latest posts by skeptics and silently cheering them on, when I came across one post in particular. It was IVXX, simply saying "Pompous ass?? Bye." The previous post was from a skeptic, now in the all-too-common "Gone" group, and whoever it was had just written a paragraph or two in response to someone else, and had ended his post with "Pompous ass".

Now, granted, the comment wasn't fully justified, and certainly not necessary, but banning seemed a little harsh. Of course, it wasn't the first time someone had been banned for being a skeptic (today) so I thought, know what, I'm going to take a break from my normally uber-cautious ways and take a little chance. I posted the following:

Another voice hushed up quieted for the greater good.

I barely had time to look back at the thread before all of a sudden I didn't have the authority to access it. I had expected maybe a warning or something, but I wasn't surprised. I logged in under a different name and, sure enough, the thread was gone. IVXX chose to save face rather than show some semblance of justice.

So, in conclusion, the Loose Change crew is fighting the evil government, who is hushing up anyone that speaks out against them, by...er...hushing up anyone who speaks out against them.

I'll be taking refuge here.

Welcome to the nut house. It is rather ironic that those that claim to being having their rights to free speech taken from them by the evil government can post anything they like on the web, regardless to how little reality it has, all while shouting down, banning, and silencing anyone they can who opposes them.

Lol... I find it kinda funny though... maybe you guys can start a group like the AA for "Recovering LCF ex-Member" or maybe something like "Member of the Banned @ LCF"...

Nevermind... I'm just bored...

Oh and welcome!!! :D

Something similar: A week or so ago, a relatively well-known journalist revealed that he’d gone truther when he wrote a conspiracy-heavy article for a national newspaper. I wrote a response to said article on my blog. I checked my blog statistics at one point, and I noticed that I had had a few hits from a site that I didn’t recognise. I checked the site in question, and it turned out to be a truther site which had a post that quoted the truther journalist’s article verbatim. Someone had left a comment on that post linking to my response (this is where the hits were coming from). A few hours later, a comment appeared on my blog from the guy who ran the truther site. It said that the truther journalist had done a fine thing by writing his article, and that 9/11 needed to be “open to debate”. Anyway, after reading that comment, I checked back at said truther’s blog. It turned out that he’d deleted the comments that linked to my post and left only those that praised the truther journalist’s article.

Wait... "pompous ass"? That sounds like something I would have said, but according to L Ron, IVXX banned me for something else. Oh well. Chalk it up to damage control. They can't have well-informed people in there showing all the 13-year-olds how they are being brainwashed by slick propaganda. Their crackpot theories are doing bad enough as it is.

I think the NWO ran out of badges. Welcome to the forum Arvel.

No seriously this is true, we used to give a badge and make a little speech, but seriously it just started getting stupid.

In the words of Band Of Brothers, getting a purple heart in the Airborne infantry is a badge of Office for us, getting banned from Loose Change, it's what you get when you argue with troofers on their forum.

Remember kiddies

Ah, right, I think it was you, max. I just couldn't remember. What was the official reason? Didn't floss often enough?

Though I must say I did take something positive away from that place. I now immediately distrust everything I hear if there's reason to. Thanks Loose Change, for teaching me that, yes, people do lie even if it sounds like they're not.

Oh, quick question while I'm here and I'm too lazy to look around for an answer: If I agitate them to the point where they IP ban me, and I'm operating from a school, is it likely that it will block the whole school, since (I think) they would see the whole place as one IP?

Thanks everyone for being so welcoming.

(and if I'm correct in assuming that 'twoofer' refers to a member of the 9/11 Truth Movement, then no, I'm not a twoofer)

If you're lucky, they might. ;) Certainly IP banning by range rather than by specific IP is quite common; I certainly typically ban ranges at SLC when we're dealing with one of our spam commenters.

Thanks everyone for being so welcoming.

I think that's how it works. IIRC, IP range banning was how it was that Oliver, all by himself, got most of Germany banned from the first LC forum. A beautiful piece of work if I do say so myself.

Something like that happened back in the heyday of the chemtrail hoax.

Cliff Carnicom banned everyone using AOL from posting on his forum. The only people able to post, were those using WebTV. LOL

Aversion to psychiatrists and medication - Check
That whole Germany thing - Check
Silencing critics - Check

Yep. I'm sure the list can go on!

No the badge ceremony apparently left when Ollie decided to give up the fight against the truthers for higher ground in the politics forum...lol

It's too bad, really. Oliver was a first-class debunker, and had excellent graphic-arts skills. Sadly, though, he got bored with Twoofers and decided Politics was more fun.

Oliver, if you're reading this, I still like you. You were one of the good guys.

And to be fair, I don't think it was ALL of Germany he got banned. Most of it, though.

He did have fairly good infiltration techniques, and was an expert at forum flooding...we at the NWO do miss him.

I got a PM from IVXX today; apparently he had just been in a bad mood and I had gotten caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. He apologized and reactivated my account, so I guess I'll have to relinquish my rights to a badge. He was very nice about it, and it gave me a little bit of hope that not everyone over there is fascist.

This reminds me when I got banned in november for my thread entitled "an open letter to the members of the 9/11 truth movement". That post was epic.

I use to carry on good conversations with IVXX over at the forums acually, we stayed away from each other for the most part, but he ended up banning me I think because of pressure from the other truthers.
