Judge Lovell gave full credit for the man's guilty pleas, saying he was genuinely remorseful and had a good chance of rehabilitation as his wife and the church remained supportive.

Does this make any sense? He used his religion to justify abusing his family. Therefore, the fact that his wife and church support him (What does that mean exactly!) is cause to believe he feels remorse? Is this what you do when you can't claim to find Jesus (since you claim to have already found him)?

And how does this wife support him? Did she not know this was going on? Does she feel any guilt?

As a father of a young daughter I tried to find my own emotion to the OP, but the best I could come up was shivering in disgust. QExactly the same thing happened to a woman I knew, whose Dad "taught" her and her sisters. Not only could she never really enjoy sex, but her whole psychology was warped - she was really messed up. She drank and couldn't cope with her kids, so they grew up messed up as well. Talk about the sins of the father.....
