When the blackout in London, England (as opposed to London, Canada or London, Kenya) occurred, my girlfriend instantly thought 'terrorists'. I mean, first America, now the UK... what're the chances?

I said it was just coincidence. There hasn't even been any proof that America was the result of a terrorist attack, let alone the UK. If something happened to Australia (I said by way of bluff), then I'd be worried.

Uh-oh (http://www.abc.net.au/news/australia/nsw/metnsw-2sep2003-10.htm).

Okay, it could just be coincidence. I mean, things can happen in threes, right?

Oh Gawd, oh gawd, oh gawd...

C'mon. It only affected the CBD, and only a small amount of buildings at that - it's not like anything important was disrupted, like a football or cricket match. :D

BTW, how did you go trying to track down audio resources for your mum?

In threes? How many blackouts would you think there are in major cities worldwide, due to various reasons, per day ?

This is not a trend, it is just selective reporting.
