Tomato tossing incident turns deadly. Should possession and use of tomatoes be regulated? If tomatoes are criminalized, only criminals will bear tomatoes.

So sorry, I didn't see your thread when I posted my own. Personally, I like Amish Assasins better than Tomato Control.:D

"The prank has gone on for years and years," said Marty Yoder, who owns Marty's Shoes in this town about 60 miles south of Cleveland. "All over the county it's been happening every year."
It is shameful that it has been allowed to persist. The shooter was clearly wrong in using disproportionate force when his vehicle was attacked. And yet his vehicle was attacked. I'd be pi__ed too. (but I don't carry a gun in my car) The tomato throwers have a share of the blame to carry themselves.

It is reasonably foreseeable that the unexpected attack on a motorist, while likely not causing damage, might nevertheless cause a fatal accident. The driver is a murderer, for sure, but the "prank" was reckless. And is wasn't simply foolish children. The guy that got shot was 23.

I just read the article. They were firing paintball guns as well! Amish paintball?

Sure. They only use black and white paint.

In Illinois there is the phenomena of the 'eggwar' where rival cliques in twon will engage in civil disturbance with eggs.

What the frick, that is no reason to get out of your car and fire rounds at someone! gee is throwing snowballs a capital offense too?

Tomato control, sounds like the problem is GUN in hands of a Whacko.
