View Full Version : My view of the world rather boring and sad

We use to be monkeys and we evolved into humans.
We help each other, but there is evil in the world…is just like a monkey not agreeing with anthor monkey.
There is talent like a monkey who swing from branches really well or a monkey who will never be able to climb or a monkey that has work hard and now to swing from branches as well as the talented monkey.
Like clever humans, hard working humans disabled humans.
Then humans die and that is the end of there life…all the emotion they have in life doesn’t really mean anything.
What is the meaning behind life nothing?
Anything strange that happens is a coincidence
Psychologists and scientists work to help humans have a better life on earth.
Like monkeys may work together how to get more food from there trainer...
Life seems pointless…even though just like any other human it’s not at the moment.
Of the monkey theory is true why are there still monkeys…why didn’t any other animals evolved and why haven’t humans evolved into super humans?
How was the first ever human made or the first ever animal.

We use to be monkeys and we evolved into humans.
(1) No, we evolved from apes. There's a difference. However apes and monkeys do share a common ancestor.
We help each other, but there is evil in the world…is just like a monkey not agreeing with anthor monkey.
There is talent like a monkey who swing from branches really well or a monkey who will never be able to climb or a monkey that has work hard and now to swing from branches as well as the talented monkey.

Cest la vie.
Then humans die and that is the end of there life…all the emotion they have in life doesn’t really mean anything.
Why do you think that something finite doesn't mean anything? Beethoven's 9th Symphony lasts about 78 minutes, a paltry blip in time compared to a human lifespan, much less geological or astronomical time. But it still means something.
What is the meaning behind life nothing?
(2) Maybe there is no inherent meaning. But if nothing really matters, then it doesn't matter that nothing matters. :) Enjoy yourself.
Anything strange that happens is a coincidence
Pretty much, yeah. But what's so sad about coincidence?
Psychologists and scientists work to help humans have a better life on earth.
Like monkeys may work together how to get more food from there trainer...
Life seems pointless…even though just like any other human it’s not at the moment.
Life goes on and all. Find something you can do that makes yourself useful, and don't pass up the fun bits of life dwelling on this existential stuff too much. Also see point 2 again.
Of the monkey theory is true why are there still monkeys…why didn’t any other animals evolved and why haven’t humans evolved into super humans?
Again with the monkeys. See point 1 again. Also, evolution is super-duper slow by human timescales. And super humans? Evolution is not goal driven, it adapts organisms to suit their environment through natural selection. We're not going to be able to shoot lasers from our eyes (or whatever super human means to you) unless there is an evolutionary impetus for humans to acquire that ability through natural selection, and even then there has to be a way for it to be biologically feasible.
How was the first ever human made or the first ever animal.
The same way anything changes via evolution. Very slowly.

Of the monkey theory is true why are there still monkeys… Word for word, you recite the dumbest creationist argument ever devised.
Of course, if you actually wanted to know the answer, you could have googled on the phrase "Why are there still monkeys?"
Here's why. (http://skepticwiki.org/index.php/Why_Are_There_Still_Monkeys%3F)
why didn’t any other animals evolved and why haven’t humans evolved into super humans? They did, we did.
How was the first ever human made or the first ever animal. Evolution, remember?

Apes are our cousins. We share a common ancestor with them as well as with monkeys. Monkeys are our distant cousins.
Undersecter belongs to a branch of the family tree that is even more distant and the rest of the family has agreed not to mention them in polite company. As one Chimp put it, "They weren't too bright in the first place but then you combine that with all the inbreeding and . . . well, we agreed not to mention it!"

Evolutionary biology and psychology explains so much about the world. Just these two branches of the tree are so incredibly fascination...and shed so much light on the world.
Answers to questions like "Why do people do this?"....REAL ANSWERS.
I know the OP is likely just making a poor, cynical attempt in the name of their faith, but I must say, delving into the scientific world can be breathtaking.
I find the notion of an invisible being allowing children to be raped and murdered depressing. The thought of people dying of ebola is depressing. So is famine and horrendous poverty. How someone can be so arrogant to believe god has chosen them over the people on this planet who are truly suffering is extremely depressing.

There aren't. One day, when you are old enough, your parents will sit you down and have "the conversation", where they will explain that Santa Claus isn't real, the tooth fairy isn't real, and monkeys aren't real. At first, the realisation that you have been lied to all this time may be heartbreaking, but in time you will come to understand that there is an inherent need in the human psyche for myths about obese housebreakers, thieves of human body parts and cute little furry humans with long, wiggly tails.

From the way I understood it, undersecter is trying to take the scientific view and not a religious one. That is why he's seeing life as boring, sad and pointless. I didn't think he was pushing on religious beliefs, just more-so realizing that evolution makes a lot of sense and feeling lost about the meaning of life. If I myself didn't have a belief in a spirit and life after death, I wouldn't see the point in living either. In other words suicide should be easy. At least that's how I always thought it would be if I were a strong atheist. But I really doubt that's reality cause I'm sure there's tons of strong atheists and they can't get themselves to kill themselves cause deep-down must have some sort of care for living for some reason. You know, cause survival is just what we tend to do.. all right so i'm rambling however I personally believe in metaphysical stuff deep-down so I'm not suicidal for that reason as well, haha.

One would hope there were no bridges or tall buildings in the area that such a sorry individual lived.

If the hundred dollars I hold in my hand are all the money I have, I may as well just set fire to it and never have money at all. But if the hundred dollars I hold in my hand is just a tiny sample of the millions of dollars I have in the bank, then the hundred dollars I hold in my hand are valuable and must be cherished.
Huh?
Enjoy this life now.

I can't help you with the sad part, but I can help you with the boring part. Go read some science magazines. Amazing research is being done in every field. Every year medical researchers are coming up with new, imaginative ways to fight diseases. Physics researchers are discovering new ways to manipulate substances on the atomic level. Astronomers are seeing things that have never been seen before.
I consider these fields to be orders of magnitude more interesting than stories from scriptures. Every December, hundreds of millions of Christians listen to pastors tell the same story they told last year and the year before. The advent story is kind of exciting the first time one hears, it but after 20, 30 or 40 times, the bloom is off the rose.

You've realised meaning is synthetic and that your concept of god as the source of meaning is therefore also synthetic.
It may take a little while to absorb that about-face conceptualisation about yourself.
