View Full Version : Assessing The Impact Of The Truth Movement

Well, there are times when you've got to go with carefully controlled statistical sampling --- and there are other times when the most appropriate methodology is a googlefight (http://www.googlefight.com/).
So let's see who's hot and who's not in the world of implausible fiction.
Hans Christian Andersen is better known than Dylan Avery, Jason Bermas, Judy Wood, and James Fetzer. Fairy stories are more popular than 911 Truth. Magic spells have drawn more attention than controlled demolition. Dragons are more interesting than squibs. The phrase disguised as a plane has less currency than does turned into a frog. Pixie dust is more talked about than thermite. And Larry Silverstein is of less public interest than the big bad wolf.
MORAL: Fairytales are popular in proportion to their coherence.

Hehehe. :)
"Pull it" is much less popular than "abracadabra"

And "clunkity clunk" (1660 hits) is outscored by "open sesame" (640,000) by 500:1

The impact to me is that one cannot google anything to do with 9/11 without having to get through 20 pages of Woo sites. I think Google should have a filter option so that anyone looking for any research on 9/11 can skip all the nonsense.

Less then 100 people at GZ on 9-11. What sort of impact does that suggest to you?
It may be that the 9-11 Truth Movemant has been successful at one thing and one thing only, and that is astronomically exaggerating their membership, strength, and popularity.

Hey, we cudda used him in 1940!
Seriously, though.... Hitler is known by a single word. Google "Hitler" and he has twice the hits as Alex Jones.

Well, yeah, but try googling just "Jones". Obviously, the "Hitler" stats are being inflated by hits on "Bob Hitler", "Jimbo Hitler", "Hitler Dry-Cleaner and Martinizing", "Hitler's Hand-Made Ukuleles", and the like.

I was just watching the first minute or two of the show about Cory Feldman and Corey Haime living together (not sure of the name of it)...
anyway, it turns out Feldman now has a rock/blues band that is named....
"The Truth Movement".
Oh no!!! How long before the truthers claim Feldman as another celebrity on their side...lol

Wow, where has this tool been all my life? The proposal reviews I did last week would have gone so much faster...
Judy Wood and my old friend Ace Baker will be pleased to note that "beam weapon" is pummeling "thermite" by over 2 to 1.
... but not so fast. Before the "Scholars for 9/11 Truth and Justice" plan their victory celebration, they should note that "Godzilla," as usual, crushes them by over a factor of four. Another victory for the Big Guy.

Everyone knows truth is the first casualty of war and it sure took a kicking this time around, but I'd say depending on which side you're on, the sense of humour goes next. Having pinned your colours to the mast of strutting peacock monkey-boy King George, fascist dictator of the western world, hellbent on genocidal war, it's no surprise you're a dry bunch. I'd be forcing a grin by now myself.

The question becomes - can Hitler beat George Bush at anything bad?
Yeah. Reality. :)
Yes I understand why people hate Bush. I'm a Republican (fiscal conservative, socially libertarianish... except when it comes to drugs) and I for one can't wait to have a President that can SPEAK a whole sentence without stumbling on words.
However, I truly do believe there are people who are so worked up in their hatred of GWB, that it's truly interfering with their ability to say anything intelligent on any foreign matter without making a reference to a chimp, genocide, fascism, police state, etc.
They seriously do NOT realize what real genocide, fascism, or a police state is, and trivialize history to the point that they'd rather America get hurt... just so it would hurt GWB.
