This is the 1st time I've heard of the "it was a diversion" theory. Is this a common theory among CTers or just the thoughts of one particular person?

Usually they just claim diversion if something big happens around the time they release on of their little videos.

The truth of the matter is that Bush got a blow job. Why hasn't anyone heard of this? Because he orchestrated 9/11 to cover it up. He wasn't about to make the same mistake Clinton did.

Sorry, I forgot to post the rambling in question. See below.
"The planes hit to make a focus point for the attention of the people, police, fire and the media. During that hour or two (8 hours including wtc 7) something was removed or destroyed that was worth the lives and the risk of being caught in the minds of the perpetrators.
Was it 900 billion dollars worth of gold and silver in wtc 1 & 2?
Was it court papers in wtc 7?
Was it insurance fraud?
Was it unrentable white elephant buildings that needed to be brought down anyway due to unforeseen building code issues at the time of construction?
One thing is for certain, jet fuel burns in a class A building at below 2000 degrees f. Steel looses 100 strength at well above 4000 degrees f, the temperature needed to bring the buildings down at free-fall speed. That is a 2000 degree f difference. The math simply does not compute. It is clear Thermite played a major role in the downing of these buildings. Thermite from what source is the real question."

Can't we, from now on, just use Aaron Brown's comment to answer troofers claims?
Good Lord. There are no words.

I love those scenarios!
"Mr. President, we have some court documents in NYC that we need to cover up, would you like me to shred them?"
"No, just fly some planes into the WTC and hope one of them falls on the right building!"
or
"Mr. Silverstein, this is your accountant. Our records indicate that you aren't pulling in enough rent at the WTC to sustain profits. Would you like to lower rent or offer incentives to bring in tenants?"
"Naw, just fly planes into them!"

Obviously the best way to draw attention away from gold and silver in WTC 1 and 2 is to stage a terrorist attack that draws the attention of EVERYONE IN THE WORLD to WTC 1 & 2.
These people amuse me.

That was my 1st thought, too.
How would they get the $900B out of the towers with a few dozen TV cameras focused on the buildings. And what fool would go into the buildings, after being hit by airliners, to get the booty?
ETA: The fire fighters were not fools, they were brave souls who were doing their jobs.

And then how would they explain that there is no missing gold or silver?

That was my 1st thought, too.
How would they get the $900B out of the towers with a few dozen TV cameras focused on the buildings. Since that is several times more than the entire world's existing gold reserves, first they would have to mine, smelt, and transport the gold to the World Trade Center, and build a place to store it. And even if that gold existed, it would take about 50,000 truckloads to move it.
So it's a complicated plot.

My favourite has to be the white elephant one...
I mean... stealing gold from the WTC while everyone is distracted, okay that's plausible, I mean everyone is looking up, right?
But... we want to destroy the WTC, because it's a rent sink hole, so we distract everyone so we can destroy the WTC without them noticing. We do this by destroying the WTC in the most spectacular unforgettable way possible.
Um. Huh?

Considering truthers seem to think Hollywood Movies = Reality. It sounds like someone watched Die Hard 3 too many times. I bet they feel like Bruce Willis right about now. Ready to go into Harlem with a sandwich board to find their very own Samuel L. Jackson and they can run off to solve the 4 gallons of water in a 3 gallon jug problems to solve 9/11 once and for all!
For TROOF!

Well there were 50,000 people working at the WTC that day, so there ya go. The Victims were In On It™!

I would bet you real money that the twoofer who posited the $900 billion idea got it from Die Hard: With A Vengeance. There's just no other logical explanation.

So how much would that much gold and silver weigh, figuring a 50/50 value split?
I wonder where this guy got the idea that Canada was in on it?

Hey I have no doubts about it.
Don't forget, these are the people who have made a wierd kind of religon out of the Matrix movies,to judge from the endless references Truthers make to them.

OK, I'll admit it, I'm bored at work today, so if we assume gold is worth roughly $23/gram then it's worth $10,433 per pound.
$900B worth would weigh around 86 million pounds, or 43,ooo tons.
So some total goof thinks someone could have moved 86 million pounds of gold in an hour.
