View Full Version : NWO Kitty is a Sell Out!
Hokulele

Yes, you heard it correctly, NWO Kitty has officially sold out. Now you can be a stylish shill, a dapper disinfo, a nattily attired NWO agent. If you have been following the CT forum, you may have noticed a little thread entitled Comic strip a conspiracy myth (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=80591). One of the regular cast of characters is "NWO Kitty", brainchild of the poster Horatius. Since NWO Kitty became very popular with the regular readers of this thread, some of us decided to use this dastardly dashing agent for material gain. Material for JREF that is.
With the blessings of StripGenerator (the company that runs that website, yes, we are keeping it legal), we have put this design on t-shirts, mugs, and messenger bags for your wardrobe delight. All profits from sales of these items will be given to the TAM Scholarship fund and/or JREF proper.

I was very careful to clear all of the designs through StripGenerator before opening the store to the general public. If anyone legalistic wants to see the e-mails, let me know and I will get permission from StripGenerator to share them. The only other intellectual property holder who might possibly be affected is Horatius, as he is the one who drew up the designs. However, I think he may be bribable with something beer-related. ;)

There have been a few other requests for custom shirts. As long as it uses only the design elements approved by StripGenerator (just the cat for example), there shouldn't be any problems. However, we are required to provide them with samples of the products we are selling, so we have been trying to restrict the number of designs offered. Since the "cat only" request has come up enough times before, I will go ahead and add this to the list on the US store. Give me an hour or so, as it is lunchtime here.
Subtle. Classy.
Unlike me.
And being subtle and classy myself, I'm not touching this one. Oh, wait . . .

Yup, brodski's UK site is much nicer than the US one. I tried to do the colors thingy and it kept printing the background of the panels as white, bleah.

Shhh. Don't use the word "Quebecois". Above the 49th parallel, it has connotations far beyond "someone who lives in Quebec" and you certainly don't want to introduce politics into this thread.
And, in any event, given the parity of the USD and the CAD these days, and given the fact that shipping parcels from the US to Canada is more economical than shipping parcels from Quebec to Ontario, it's all good. :D

Hee hee ~ but at least in this instance, it's still sort of on topic. NWO Kitty --> Cat that looks somewhat like NWO Kitty --> Cat that inspired the creation of NWO Kitty --> Ninja Kittens in Training (could be a new storyboard idea for Horatius...) plus it keeps this thread on the front page where more people will find the NWO Kitty merchandise!

The UK store has sold 13 items plus the samples for strip generator (not counted here)
4 safe for tyranny (SFT) T shirts (various colours and styles)
2 SFT mugs
2 SFT bags
2 cat with gun T shirts
2 cool hat Shirts
1 Cool hat bag
so come on, buy more stuff, be the first to own a non SFT mug
or mouse mat. or the very affordable, yet stylish, badges.
Due to popular demand I added a shirt with no text, yet none have yet been ordered... is it a ... conspiracy? ;)
I am still trying to work out how to sue the sites internal advertising feature to maybe get a wider market.

I have noticed that the Spreadshirt site doesn't update their sales figures very fast. I will try and get some firm numbers this evening, but their internal visitor hit counter is showing 225 (which could very well be mostly me trying to figure out how to use the stupid thing).

Heh - mine will get here whenever they make their way across the border...most of the time, it takes only a few days, but sometimes it takes a few weeks. It all depends upon the whim of the customs official on duty who happens to be on duty at the place and time the package hits the border.

Actually, I seem to have an issue.
I ordered several items on Wednesday (19th). I have a printout of the transaction, order reference, the lot. However, I decided I wanted a mouse mat as well. When I logged on to buy that, I found all the original items still in my shopping basket, and the system tried to add the mouse mat to the rest of the stuff.
I'm reluctant to delete the four original items, but having said that, I don't want two of them either!

I'm glad someone other than me picked up a chick shirt. I put the front logo in the middle of the shirt, as opposed to a breast pocket location, to avoid the whole NWO-Kitty-as-nipple-pastie effect. As far as pictures go, unfortunately I am kind of far from any major NWO offices, but I will be in Houston next week, and will maybe try to get one of the evil oil industry headquarters in the background.

Now, we can't have an NWO Kitty thread without linking to his/her theme song:
http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=82625
Those of you who have been reading the Comic Strip a Conspiracy Myth (http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=80591) thread in the CT forum will be familiar with the character of NWO Kitty. He's the mastermind of The New World Order - the organization responsible for all things evil.
Well, I think it's about time our Kitty got his own little movie. I have created a theme song for an NWO Kitty sitcom (http://minorcrisis.net/files/NWO%20Kitty%20Theme%20Song.mp3) and I'm challenging those JREFers who are nifty with Flash (or anything else, for that matter) to create an opening title sequence to go with it!
I am interested to see what people will do with it!
Warning: Song may contain double-entendres ;)
There was a time when it was just Bill Clinton's favourite pussy.
Living up the high life in D.C.
Then a man, who Al Gore sent, did an strange experiment.
Naturally it went horribly wrong.
Now it's NWO Kitty.
It's the kinda cat you don't wanna meet.
NWO Kitty.
Better watch out, cot it's packin' heat.
NWO Kitty.
Making sure it's plans unfurl.
NWO Kitty.
I'm not sure if it's a boy or girl.
It's takin' over the world!

Got mine on Friday, I may post pictures if I get a chance and my NDA allows it.
Anyhow, it looks nice. I got the no-text one from the UK in "sand" color, which is kind of a dark khaki/tan color that looks really nice. NWO Kitty went to the gym on Friday night and out to the outlet mall on Sunday, where he was on the receiving end of some drool from my son. Overall, I would say it was a rousing success!
The shirt washes pretty well, by the way. Too bad it's not screen printed, but that would probably cost an arm and a leg to set up.

That just the latest step in our plan. "New World Order" encompasses not merely the re-arrangement of economic and political relationships, but also of geography itself.
So, now the UK is in the middle of France, so that the next time Germany invades them, the English won't have to go so far to save the French again.
Our next step is to put Mexico where Ontario is, so that the Northern States of the US can benefit from illegal Mexican workers crossing the border, just like the Southern States have benefitted.
Later we'll be moving all of Europe into the mid-Atlantic, so that we can finally tell where Europe stops and Asia begins, as well as shifting Australia into the Northern hemisphere with all the other white guys.
After that, we get into re-arranging the entire Solar System. Watch yourself, Mercury!

That was merely a re-definition to distract the sheepstronomers, while we actually physically move the other planets around. By the time they wake up to what we're really doing, all the best real estate in the system will belong to us!

Please update your NWO translation handbook. "Vacationing" is currently code for "destroying evidence," and "wife" is "top-secret cyborg companion."
"Spain" is still "Oneonta," although be advised it will probably be changed to "A rest stop in northeastern Wisconsin" for the next revision.

No idea. There is no charge for the store, so I will be keeping the US version up through at least the end of the year, if not longer. Most of it will depend on whether or not things are selling. Brodski can answer for the UK version. Speaking of which, mugs and mouse pads make excellent holiday gifts!
And on a related note, I just received the first commission payment from Spreadshirt today, and will be sending a check off to JREF NWO headquarters this afternoon. The profits from the US store is allowing me to send off a check for $50. I tried to keep the commission low so people could afford to buy stuff. I am sure the UK store has gotten more, as I believe the quality and range of their products is much better than Spreadshirt's. All those pennies may help one or more people make it out to TAM so we can all buy each other beverages (alcoholic or non, depending on your preferences). :)

The UK store's products are indeed top notch. I really like the quality of the shirts they sell (they've got a sturdy feel to 'em), and the colors are nice (at least the one color I've seen :)).
As I said before, the only thing that could be better would be if they had an option to do screen printing. However, I'm sure that would drive the costs up (I believe the fixed setup costs are considerably higher with screen printing), and I don't really feel like paying $120 for a t-shirt.

So far the Uk store has made just under £50 in comission (a little over $100), hopefully more orders will come in (hint hint). I plan to keep the store up for a while yet, and if anyone is inetrested and has any requests I may even expand the product line.

This post is to commend Comboutique's service.
My order arrived safely today. Late, of course, but since the original obviously vanished into the maw of the Post Office, never to be heard of again, that was hardly their fault.
The bag is so cool I can barely describe it. I only wish I'd had the opportunity to take it on 4 BA flights! (If I see a cat with a gun on a plane....)
T-shirt, ditto.
Long-sleeved shirt fits better in some places than others, and the neckline and the sleeves are a bit wide, but actually I have it on now as it's warmer than the T-shirt I began the day with (-3C outside, and I put on a T-shirt, right....) and I like it fine.
The mug is a great size for glugging lots of tea/coffee, and unusually the logo is on the outside (for a right-handed drinker) so one's colleagues get an unobstructed view. The print has come out a little small on the mug though, and could be easier to read.
I'd love to see the faces of anyone who opens the lost package. As in-jokes go, this one is about as esoteric as they come.
Satisfied customer,
Rolfe.

Well, now, it may be completely uneconomic if you have to give one to Stripgenerator as well, but what I'd love (if they do them) is a hoodie.
It's too damn cold here to show off T-shirts (even the long sleeved variety), and I don't really like round necks anyway, I look like a plucked chicken. I have a nice light-grey hoodie I really like, but it is emblazoned with the words "University of Glasgow". This is a bit of a problem as this is University of Edinburgh territory, and it's like being a cat in a dog suit. I don't wear it except at weekends.
I saw some nice hoodies for sale on the cruise ship 2 weeks ago, but considering the organisation (or lack of it) is some quarters, I didn't fancy going around being a paying advert for Royal Carribbean.
NWO Kitty? Now that, I would wear.

If three more people are interested in a hoodie (or someone wants three hoodies) I will put the product up. They are available in a range of colors.

I'm wearing one of my two hoodies now, and I can confirm that it is warm and cosy and comfortable and practical. Also that the sleeves are a bit long but you can't have everything. Quality is excellent, and the dark colours wash well with no colour leaks. The motifs also wash and tumble dry no problem.

I can measure it for you if you like, but it's at home. It bigger than an ordinary handbag, but not so big as a holdall. It's about the size of a small laptop case. Useful for putting stuff in for a particular purpose/journey, but not so big as to be unwieldy.

I just measured mine, and it's about 14 inches side to side, and about 10-11 inches top to bottom. It has one main pocket with a zipper, and a second smaller pocket with a zipper, and a few extra little pockets and things on the front, like a cell phone pocket, 4 pen holders, a small zippered pocket, and a small open pocket. It's a bit smaller than the old bag I used to carry, but it still lets me carry all the stuff I usually lug around.
The shoulder strap is fixed in place, but it extends to be long enough even for me as a big guy to be comfortable, so I'd be surprised if anyone else had trouble with it.

Hmm... it's the right size, it's compartmentalized, it's stylish, it's official NWO apparel... could it possibly get any better? I'm convinced. And since there will be S&H costs anyway, I'll ask the Mrs. if she wants a T-shirt or something.

Time to ressurect this thread.
Could somebody add small white border to NWO kitty,so it could be visible on black shirt?
Then you have at least one purchase if not more from me.

...BTW Something cool I discovered about the UK shop, if you order a black T-shirt NWO kitty comes out white...
You notice this? Presumably from Czech you'd be ordering from here...

:D Fair enough. Here just meant UK rather than the US store.

The UK store does have a black shirt with a white NWO Kitty, and the US store has black hoodies with the full cartoon panel (allowing you to see Kitty). Unfortunately, coming up with a cut-out design (white border to indicate a black cat) would take a rework of the existing designs, and I know the US store charges more for the printing involved in a cut-out.
Maybe Brodski can check into this for the UK store. I would still have to rework the design, so I can't say how long this would take.
