When I started in on the BBS craze in 1984, smiley's were already well entrenched in messages. I actually still have a list of 200 different emoticons saved in a text file from that first BBS. That list where I got my "glasses" smiley in the signature below.

So here's the theme... Post your favorite ASCII smiley (clean ones, please. This is the public part of the forum).

I try to be pretty minimal when it comes to smileys, though I use ;) an awful lot, and :p crops up with recent regularity.

And bringing up BBSs made me think of using -_-=> in my signature. I don't know why, but it was all the rage with the local kids at the time.
