Good to see someone coming to a sound logical conclusion with regard to Sylvia. Good to see your excellent site playing a part in this also.

Good article, Robert! More confirmation that the site is making a difference. And citing that prediction really makes an impact in light of what that poor woman is going through.

I sincerely admire that woman, who in the midst of a horrible situation was still able to think critically. My heart goes out to her.

I hope she finds her way to these forums.

I second that. Sometimes, no matter how desperate we are, we can still stop and think. I'm glad she did. She saved her money for something much more important - her health.

Good for her!

After reading how $ylvia ridicules followers of her church, I shudder to think what she says about the ill and desperate who turn to her.

Thirded! Well done, Robert. If I ever meet you in person, I'll buy you a drink. But if I ever meet Sara, I'm buying her dinner!!! Thanks, Sara!

Very nice and your analysis is spot on. I hope for the best for Ms. Carpenter. I remember seeing the show she talked about -- not one of Sylvia's finest. I remember thinking something along those lines.. Wow, she just reduced that woman to tears by mentioning..ah..no actually, just noticing the necklaces.

Browsing those predictions and I found one not too far off that we all can look forward to: Aliens will begin to show themselves in the year 2010, they will not harm us, they simply want to see what we are doing to this planet. They will teach us how to use anti-gravity devices again, such as they did for the pyramids.

The cool anti-gravity devices are sure going to make those moon-bounce (http://www.hoponpops.com/) things for kids look silly.

I'm all tingly over the prospect. Anti-gravs will be so cool when I'm stuck in traffic! :D

The Way-Back Machine link to Sylvia's annual predictions makes me wonder if we'll be seeing the article on that topic soon. Robert?

Good article, Robert! More confirmation that the site is making a difference. And citing that prediction really makes an impact in light of what that poor woman is going through.I got a heart-wrenchingemail months ago which may become an article at some point. It was from a man whose wife was dying of cancer, and they were excited when they saw a Montel show where Browne predicted that cancer would be curable within the year. Of course, that did not happen, and his wife died. Would she have lived her life differently otherwise? Hard to say.

I sincerely admire that woman, who in the midst of a horrible situation was still able to think critically. My heart goes out to her.Mine as well.

I second that. Sometimes, no matter how desperate we are, we can still stop and think. I'm glad she did. She saved her money for something much more important - her health.Agreed.

After reading how $ylvia ridicules followers of her church, I shudder to think what she says about the ill and desperate who turn to her. There's a stomach-turning thought...

If I ever meet you in person, I'll buy you a drink. Thanks, but you'll get off cheap, since I'll order a Sierra Mist. :)

Very nice and your analysis is spot on.Thanks, KT!

The Way-Back Machine link to Sylvia's annual predictions makes me wonder if we'll be seeing the article on that topic soon. Robert? That will be a series of ten articles, one for each year. It is a daunting task. So daunting in fact, that I keep putting it off. :(

Wow! You're not kidding.

When I look at the predictions, I'm not even sure how you'd tackle them. It'd be nice to come up with a straight numerical percentage, but so many of them aren't even what I would consider valid predictions.

Really--earthquakes in California and extensive tornado damage in the midwest??? The Pope might or might not die this year. Sheesh!

No kidding!

If you think that's daunting though, wait until you get :imitates Montel's announcer voice: "Two hundred and seven hours of Syyyl-via BROWNE!"

That's really touching. What people don't understand is what kinds of traumas the majority of people going to these psychics have recently been through. As I've said before, almost everyone going to see her has had a recent, unexpected and very traumatic death in the family.

It really seems that all-around happy people simply don't go to psychics.

Good for her!

After reading how $ylvia ridicules followers of her church, I shudder to think what she says about the ill and desperate who turn to her.

She sounds a lot like a lot of other charlatans of her ilk over the years...remember JZ Knight, who "channeled" the spirit of a 40,000 year old warrior....who spoke with an oddly girlish voice bearing a curious mix of faux Scottish and Bronx Puerto Rican accents...

She made a heckuva lotta money though, even Shirley McClain sang her praises.

I remember lectures where people would come up and ask their questions if their ticket number was drawn.

Most of them were the same questions, my soul mate, my job, etc.

But, I remember a woman who came up to the microphone, and she told Sylvia that she was given 6 months to live if she didn't get a kidney transplant, and she was number 3 on the list. She wanted to know if she would make it in time. The entire room went absolutely silent. Sylvia told her that she would get her kidney transplant. I have always wondered about that lady, even before discovering the lechery. I wonder if she did get her transplant. I hope that she did.

I tend to think there are some "psychics" that believe that have some gift or ability and honestly think they are helping people.

In SBs case, it is clear she has nothing but contempt for the people she professes to want to "help", that she is nothing more then a con-artist who knows she has no special "ability".

Her actions, and others like her, are simply cruel and unforgivable. It is simply beyond comprehension that someone would be so cruel as to give blatantly false hope...and knowingly profit from it.
