I under stand the need for the banner ad on the first page,
but does it have to appear on every web page, even here?

I'm a bit confused. Is the poll question, "does the banner ad have to appear on every page?" or "should the banner ad be killed?" I have no problem with the ad, but I don't know how to express that view in this poll.

I think it's a great looking banner. Kudos to the designer.

I don't think it's needed at the top of every page in the forum.

Here's my insane suggestion.

Provide the banner ad to those of us with web sites,
like the Bad Astronomer, and include the hyperlinking
codes to insert and display the ad into the web page, like:
