At the risk of starting another 200 page bigfoot thread, I thought this article on Yahoo! deserved a mention: Satellite Searches (http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20070925/sc_livescience/satellitesearchescouldspotbigfootlochnessmonster;_ ylt=ArD6L4GuKqtlEAaCrJTEP2Cs0NUE)

I like the sensible thinking of the author.

Of course, if such searches are done and still reveal no solid proof of the monsters' existence, few minds will be changed. Diehard believers can always claim that all the monstrous beasts somehow hid undetected or are masters at camouflage. Or the searchers didn't look long enough or in the right places. It only takes one live or dead Bigfoot or lake monster to forever prove that they exist, but no amount of failed searches will ever prove they don't.

I think if every square inch of North America was scanned all at one time and every living cell cataloged, believers will still say it wasn't enough.

That's because believers will come up with reasons for everything. Among those I've seen are that Bigfoot: all go to the same place to die (with elephants, maybe?), shape-shift, de-materialize at will, cause you to have an experience of lost time so you think they de-materialized, travel 300 miles a day on foot, and travel between dimensions at will. If they don't want to be found, they won't be!

Well, now, that's certainly proof enough for me!

The theory is that Hunters, when they see a Bigfoot can't seem to be able to shoot a Bigfoot. I think the same might apply to Satellite cameras.

This could be just as much of a boon for bigfoot believers as a bust. We all know hos much the woo crowed loves to over-analyze and blow up photos. Considering the resolution of Google Earth is often greater than a meter, I can predict lots of families of treestumps... I mean... bigfoots being cited.
