Once again my local paper has published a letter to the editor (http://www.trib.com/articles/2007/09/22/editorial/letters/45bd2320c2b45fd68725735b0079d7cb.txt) that begs comment.

Many people believe that evolution can be considered a science because of the many counts of evidence that supposedly support the evolutionary theory. However, I bet that a large majority of the world would be shocked to find out that much of the evidence that textbooks use today to support the evolutionary theory was long ago proven a fraud....

The scientific proof for Nebraska Man was a tooth. That's right, one tooth! The top scientists claimed it was proof of a prehistoric man in America. It turns out, the tooth of Nebraska Man was from an extinct species of pig.

Due to the lack of missing links that just so happen to pop up it looks like the scientific community is forced to lie in order to get its precious "proof" of evolution.

The replies to this letter start with the oldest at the bottom of the page.

Every day, I thank Satan that I live in New Zealand and not USA. Stuff like that quite honestly churns my stomach and I'd be in jail right now for burning down churches, or fundies, or both.

How can these people still remember to breathe at that stupidity level?

I do love this though:

...much of the evidence...

...one tooth! ...

You should actually be pleased that the newspaper puts this stuff in it. Gratifying to see almost everyone pointing out that the bloke who wrote it and the ones he was quoting are complete idiots.

Hey, was that Kurious Kathy replying there as abj?

:dl:

Ain't it suspicious how those fundies all sound exactly the same. Bunch of no-brained sponges soaking up a load of foetid dingoes kidneys and spewing it out when necessary.
