"RAMALLAH, West Bank - Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas, increasingly unpopular and worn out by a power struggle with Yasser Arafat (news - web sites), submitted his resignation Saturday, dealing a serious blow to a U.S.-backed peace plan."

It has to be apparent to everybody that Arafat has to physically get out of Palestine and go away...retire...whatever.
IMO as long as Arafat has political and military authority - even if it's not legislated - any PM will fail.
His time is past. There cannot be a supported successor as long as Arafat is around.
Can we all 'pray' for Alzheimer's?
Dear Ed_God,
Please scramble this bastard's brain and ship him off to Elba or New Jersey.
TYVM
Amen
