And to pay $87 billion for the privilege.
I wouldn't give him 5 cents to lick my boots. But he can kiss my a$$ for free.

Oh come on, Shemp. What do you really think of President Bush? Don't hold back. You can tell us. Really.

I am so laughing... Bush looks into the camera and says the most ABSURD things... and people just say, yeah, I guess he knows what he's doing. Cannot ANYONE think for themself?
Democrat Joe Biden said he will support the $87 bil because we have to follow through on our "commitment" to Iraq. What commitment? We promised to f*ck them up real good, and we have completed THAT job.
...Like there is even one chance in a hundred that after spending a deficit busting $87 billion EXTRA, there will be one thing in Iraq to show for it.
...Like Bush would EVEN CONSIDER spending $87 billion to help the million newly unemployed American citizens on HIS WATCH.
After everything Bush has done in the two years since 9/11, he still does not have Saddam or Osama. But the egg on his face looks better every day. According to Bush, Al Queda is still active and so is the Baath party. Bush will really be in trouble when he has no more boogie men to point to. Then someone might figure out that our president is a CLOWN.

So Bush wants to have 87 billion to get Iraq working or 87 billion to break something else?

To keep the ball rolling in Iraq, it appears... (http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/09/07/bush.speech/index.html)

I am with Shemp on this one!
He wants another $ 87 billion to support the $ 100 billion that has already been spent, and it is quite likely that at least another $ 100 billion will be needed next year as well.
Wow! Now we are up to about $ 300 billion range, and that is some real money.
Does anyone else find that it is ironic that many Republicans who were desperately opposed to the Clinton Health Care Plan because it would cost too much, but they have not problem in spending vast amounts to kill, destroy, then sort-of rebuild a country on the other side of the world while our own citizens still have a substantial health care problems?
Go figure!

Well, y'know, ya gotta prioreytize.
What I want to know is, can't Haliburton give a little towards the effort? Surely they can write it off as some kind of tax deduction?

Meanwhile, maybe Bush should tack up a few posters like this one:

Werent we supposed to use the Iraqi oil to pay for the rebuilding?

I totally agree DrChinese. I may not like my standing presidents (I always vote for the losing libertarian) but I have always stood by them out of patriotic duty.
Not this time.
