Does anyone know some good books about what happened during and after hurricane katrina? I'm looking for a lot of good books and I'm open to any suggestions.

I was just about to look into the same thing. As far as I know, the definitive account hasn't been written yet. It's still pretty soon after the event, and researching something so vast takes time. I'll email a friend in N.O. to get her suggestions. In the meantime, I recommend Spike Lee's documentary "When the Levees Broke."

I've already seen spike Lee's documentary. That is what got me interested in learning more about it. Your right though, it's still kinda early to have any definitive stuff about it. It's amazing though that there is already a book about Anna Nicole Smith's dead but nothing about Katrina.

You could read the congressional inquiry. I did and found it quite eye opening.

Here it is. (http://www.katrina.house.gov/full_katrina_report.htm)
