The Daily Show and Ali G do the same bit and I've never seen a guest get that pissed.
Oddo needs to take a deep breath and learn to relax. Even if you've had a bad day and someone's wasting your time you have to maintain an image of professionalism. You're representing your country. I've seen the uncut version of this clip and he actually kills four people in the room. Totally out of line.

Yes, she was. The comparison to Ali G is pretty good, she's a stunt reporter playing the part of a stupid blonde.
Damn funny, too.

Ther's bugger all else to do for fun up in the frozen lands of Norway except to think up new ways of tormenting USA Congressmen.
Mind you, the Congressmen deserve it.

Why is everyone making fun of her? I think it's beautiful she has such a fulfilling relationship with the voices in her head.

Telling someone to stay calm in the face of blonde stupidity is like telling someone that when a disaster happens, it's important not to panic with the rest of the crowd.

Too bad he isn't from my district ... I'd vote for him twice!

Commenting against foul language would likely NOT win you any votes in S.I.
This is NYC - not the bible belt.

This was just on the news here in Norway. Of course FOX 'News' is milking it for all it's worth.

From the Fox News article (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,300816,00.html) I linked to:
Anyone who thinks they are going to come in and waste time while mocking him and other American leaders like the Clintons, while implicitly saying “America is a racist nation ... I’m going to throw you out of my office,” Oddo said. He apparently did apologize to his mother for the curse words.
“My language was inappropriate, I'm apologetic for it, I regret it,” said Oddo. “I don't regret the sentiment. In fact, I think that people across the country will see that I reacted the same way any Staten Islander walking down Hylan Boulevard would have reacted.”

Your vid is about 43 and a half minutes too short! :p
As far as the cussing, you have to admit it was effective at getting them out of his office with nary a peep of protest. Not even the stunt reporter wanted to push that button any more!

Insert comma, wherever it fits you. :p

I'm not sure why they chose this guy. Who has heard of him, outside of his constituency?

I think this will become an archtypical example of how the act of being a public servant doesn't mean anything about a person's character -- and why I afford public servants the same amount of respect (until I learn otherwise) as hip-hop artists.
As if the cussing wasn't bad enough, he threatens to "beat the sh-- out of" them at the end. That is inexcusable in any circumstance.

Oh, it's definitely inexcusable, since quite apart from the fact that he's committed the major fallacy of having no sense of humour at all, looking at the video of him it looks like he's a fairly typical weedy urban yuppie type. Practically anyone could take him easily. I bet he would even have problems in a fair arm-wrestle with the Norwegian blonde.
