If you have not heard this it will chill you to the bone.

No conspiracy content here, but as we in this forum care very deeply about that day, I thought this might be the appropriate place.

Just to warn others, I believe there is a relative "In law" of Mr. Cosgrove on this forum, and he posts here regularly. I know most of you will be civil, but please keep it in mind when posting.

You are correct, that we do care deeply, and my above comment was not meant to discourage you from posting things to remind us of the personal, and tragic nature of the day.

Thank you, I did understand that. I had no idea a relative of his was here, but I am not surprised given how few social links are between us all. To that person; I sincerely feel for your loss.

To put this as delicately as possible, it appears to me that the recording indicates that the fires were far from benign at the last moments. Further, the only sound I hear in the background is a rumbling noise consistant with collapse. No explosions.

With all of the engineering types here, perhaps someone could isolate the background noises and analyse them for explosive noises, to rule CD in or out.

There's really no need to isolate background noises. The explosions from explosive demolitions routinely peak microphones as far as a mile from the building. Anything that close to the point of collapse initiation (which is where any explosives simply would have to be placed) would peak a microphone without a doubt.

Truly heartbreaking. The mention of his call to his wife when Flt. 175 hit the tower was tragic. Listening, you know what's about to happen and you hear his pleas for help, rumbling sounds in the background and then his screams of horror as the structure gave way.

Those buildings were God-damn tombs.

The Rumble is still interesting though. Was the building undergoing some sort of slow deformation at that point? Or was there some floor collapse going on farther down the building before the top began its fall?

When I first heard this (earlier today) I had no idea how it ended. Wow.

I had heard it earlier on tributes and various CT docs. Where was Kevin located in relation to the damage of the tower? The rumblings are indeed interesting; probably sync up the time of the call to when the building started to collapse?

I'm not a forensics expert, heh.

102nd floor, well above impact.

A terribly sobering reminder of that terrible day...:(
...and wishing I had not listened to it....just too much...
