RichardR sent me a link to these yesterday. I sent fan email to the artist!
Not every cartoon there is spot-on, but many are very funny.

Yes, not bad. But the cartoonist forgot to draw the claws.

Man, why isn't this comic used more often in this forum? Why haven't I even heard of it before?

Popped in after finding this site from the BA's place and already there is a thread. Yes, I am slow.

sylvia is even creepy as a cartoon. Glad that the supreme court has put the seal of approval on humor such as this.

Being in Britiain, I don't get the pleasure watching Sylvia on Montel. But something occurred to me after seeing the second cartoon. Obviously Sylvia is good for ratings, or else she wouldn't be there.. is it likely she is encouraged by the producers to say sensational or horrifying things in order to keep the viewers interested?

Montel is on the ITV2 channel, I believe - one of those daytime chat show channels. It might be LivingTV. However, I must admit it's been a month or two since I noticed the show listed.

I'm not planning to watch.

I don't thinks she needs any encouragement just because she's on TV. This is someone who, in a private reading, told a woman she was being poisoned by her husband.

Great webcomic. There's one for all topics! Homeopathy, chiropractic, etc. Awesome stuff.

I haven't seen an SNL skit on them, but there was a sebment on Mad TV a few months back where someone playing Montel was rapping about his use of medicinal marijuana, and at one point he walks through the hallways in the backstage of his show, and passes by Browne who is using a bong.

I agree. She doesn't throw out these sensational, horrifying things to get ratings. She does them because she knows it will inflict pain on the marks.
Psychics like Sylvia Browne knows that to get people in an emotional, vulnerable state of mind, they need to feel pain first.

Evidence? Come on, Claus, although you may be right, there are many other interpretations that might also be right. Do not go beyond your data. It would appear that you are allowing your prejudices--justified as they are--to cloud your judgment. At the very least, add an "IM(H)O" here. Your comments are not statements of fact.

Does the creator have an account here? I think we'd all like to give him a pat on the proverbial. I went through all of them in one sitting when someone linked them in another thread last week - most of them are top notch.

I think the only thing that would really scare sylvia is a call from her bank telling her account has been drained...it would be a nice touch if it was donated to science.

I'm a Canadian skeptic, now living in Florida. There isn't really too much to tell that would be particularly interesting. I've always enjoyed doodling and drawing comics, and recently got the idea to combine my few interests together to form Cectic. I'm just glad that some other people besides me are able to derive entertainment from it :)
