I'm on the look out for more actual controlled demolitions to go see and make more videos. They are very interesting to see in person. I have seen two, right here in my backyard - the old Washington Convention Center (in 2004) and an apartment building nearby.
Though, I'm willing to travel some distance to see them. I'm not sure if I can really make this one though... there is an controlled demolition scheduled for Thursday evening in Atlantic City. The Sands Casino will be imploded. It will be at night, but I think still would be very cool to see and make a video of this implosion.

If I went, I would have to take time off of work and miss my Arabic class, which is resuming this week. Not sure if I can do that. If anyone else here can go and make a video, then I might skip this one. Not decided, it's so tempting.

Is there nobody here from New Jersey?
I'm very tempted to go, because it's so much fun to watch a building implosion. And, maybe hit some of the casinos. What a great excuse to skip work! :D

I'm sure we have some members here who live in NJ. If I'm not mistaken, one of them is a New Jersey EMT or FF - I don't recall which offhand, but I'm thinking of njslim. Perhaps he/she is available and interested.

If you can go, that would be excellent. Otherwise, I'll hope someone posts something on YouTube.
Regretfully, I really can't go. This isn't exactly the best excuse to miss my class. (what do I tell my instructor?) Had it been on the weekend, I'd definitely be there.

Can't make it. Not taking my truck to AC to get broken into and wife is still at work with the Sebring. She wont be home anytime soon due to a meeting and Rutgers traffic in my area.

I live just outside of NYC - it is 180 miles from here to AC. Don't have the time to go all
the way down and back.

Regret not being able to go and see in person. :(
Highly recommend you go see one, at some point. It's amazing to watch and hear the charges going off for so many seconds before the building comes down.
But, I did find this news footage:
http://tinyurl.com/ype8kd - the charges go off for ~18 seconds, very very loud, very very distinct sounds in quick repetition (like in my implosion video). Nothing on 9/11 sounded at all like that.
I will do my best to keep informed of any future implosions. The buildings come down in less than ~30 seconds, but highly worth the time to go.
