PHAOROAH133 (Mr. Troofer-bucks) (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Loose_Change_Forum/index.php?showtopic=18280) can provide enough material for entire forum alone, but one LCFer calls him out here on his unfounded fears that WW III (IV) is going to start over the Armenian genocide resolution...
they are going to re-draw the middle east map to ensure their path to oil rich regions running from Caspian Sea and along Iranian and Iraqi oil fields. Bush mention the start of world war three, things are transpiring quickly.
and there is at least one Troofer who is calling BS:
You might want to change your title there body, cause I don't think you have any idea of what you are talking about. People have been trying to get the world recognize the Armenian genocide since the very beginning, which was right after WWI.
Saying Armenian genocide resolution is pretext for WWIII is like saying Jews caused WWII. Go read a history book.Top
It might just be me, but I think LCF, if nothing else, is one of the most entertaining and sanity-assuring places on the Net.

Yes, because apparently it's easier to conquer the oil rich regions of other countries than it is to expand drilling domestically.

Have you seen the current environmental restrictions? It probably IS easier to conquer most other nations than satisfy the EPA.

Yes, because apparently it's easier to buy-off the rulers of the oil rich regions of other countries than it is to expand drilling domestically.

So when are the tanks going to roll into Canada and Mexico?
(In 2006, the former supplied 17.66% and the latter 15.61% of all U.S. crude oil imports. The rankings for the two nations as suppliers to the U.S. in 2006 was #1 and #2, respectively.)
Here are some more numbers from 2006:
The top two nations supplied 33.27% of all U.S. crude oil imports
The top five nations supplied 68.96% of all U.S. crude oil imports
The top ten nations supplied 87.52% of all U.S. crude oil imports
A total of thirty-eight other countries supplied the remaining 12.48% not supplied by the top ten
Seems like the U.S. is going to have to do an awful lot of conquering...

And with weapons like:

it's understandable that we'd be scared. I'm not sure how this turned into making fun of Canada, but I <3 them so.

From what I read, it appears that genocide did indeed take place in Turkey. Was this the best time in the world to recognize this genocide? Hells no.
I like the Armenians. They are nice people. But right now, we need a stable Middle East and this resolution did not assist that goal. We should have put this off to a better time.
