It just ended.

D'Souza won the "debate", but that's because he never shuts up. He's like a spouting machine. And he waffles. Boy does he ever. I had to do a bit of research to understand just what a whackjob D'Souza really is.

Shermer hardly got to talk, and when he did? Shermer sounds reasonable, polite - a nice guy. D'Souza, on the other hand, is like a jackhammer. I don't think he took a single breath during the half-hour debate.

Maybe Shermer will put up the audio at the Skeptics web site, we'll see.

It was supposed to be about Shermer discussing his "Why Darwin Matters" and D'Souza's "What's So Great About Christianity" but it didn't really work out that way. D'Souza was like a fire hose you couldn't get to, to turn off.

I haven't seen the debate but if he spewed half as much dishonesty as he did when he debated christopher hitchens then I'm sure it was some spectacle. I try to ignore him, mostly because he's full of crap. Just once you'd think that theists could muster just one honest advocate instead of hacks like D'Souza, Kirk Cameron, the ridiculous lot.

When Dan Dennett debated him, Dinesh was yelling the whole time and sounded like a preacher. I was actually embarrassed for him, and I think he's a joke in the first place.

Dinesh actually hosts video of it on YouTube.....I guess he thinks he did great, haha.

I wouldn't declare someone the winner just because they don't shut up. If that's the case anyone could win a debate if they just keep talking and talking and talking and talking and tal.........

Haven't heard D'Souza speak, but I've read some of his posts online, and it's like a game of whack-a-logical-fallacy. Much as I admire Shermer, Hitchens and Dennett, I wouldn't be interested in listening to any of those debates.

I saw one between D'Souza and Hitchens on C-SPAN recently and I seem to recall the moderator making sure not to let the former blather on (nor the latter to ramble). I would have called what I saw a rhetorical draw with Hitchens having many of the better evidentiary points.

I've seen mini (talking head) debates and D'Souza keeps talking over whoever he's up against to where, if he has a point, his endless blather drowns it out.

Speaking of Shermer debating, Noory had him on as a guest on C2C last (Tue.) night but I missed most of it. I thought he did well considering the woo he was up against had an ally in Noory.
