In order for this election ploy to really work, he needs the ACLU to make some high profile complaints about this, and it needs to happen fast. How can he protect the highly evolved people of Kentucky from the evil atheist hordes if thos gol dang atheists won't attack?

"Voters will choose Tuesday between the incumbent Republican and his Democratic challenger Steve Beshear, who polls show commands a double-digit lead in the gubernatorial race."

Fortunately, the voters of KY seem to have some sense and are about to give this moron the boot.

"If you vote me out, then it's obvious YOU HATE JESUS!!"*

*(Not an actual quote. At least, I don't think so...)

I guess it is to late for me to register to vote against Jesus, but of course I'll have that option here in California too.

Well the Fundamentalist 10 Commandments card did not work, Fletcher lost in the election today.

Well the Fundamentalist 10 Commandments card did not work, Fletcher lost in the election today.

Well, they'll probably haul the 10 Commandments back out of there in the next few days, since Jesus didn't get Fletcher elected.

It is so hard to wrap yourself in the Ten Commandments.

I hear they're scratchy.

It is so hard to wrap yourself in the Ten Commandments.

That is why they should be tatooed on the body. Then all you need to do is strip to prove your christian cred.

And think of all the placement possibilites. Especialy for the adultery one.

The Governor-Elect (Steve Beshear) may be less fundy than Fletcher, but he isn't superstition-free. His campaign ads went heavy on the family-lovin'-church-goin'-good-ol'-boy image. I hold out hope he was simply doing what was necessary in such a religious state, but I remain worried.

Edit: In defense of Fletcher (the outgoing Governor), he did not place the Ten Commandments until it had been declared by a judge as not subject to an injunction, said ruling being based on the Ten Commandments not being displayed independently but as part of a display of historical documents.

In further defense, while Fletcher was a fundy who support the teaching of Intelligent Design and whose administration was corrupt, he did do some good things from a budget point of view. Kentucky desperately needed that.

It seems that the Party of Jesus in Kentucky was pulling out all of their favorite cards for yesterdays gubernatorial contest.

An article on Gay.com (http://www.gay.com/news/article.html?2007/11/06/5) (warning, queer website, possible recruitment attempt) indicates that has-been crooner and noted Fundamentalist hate-monger Pat Boone appeared in a recorded phone call used to play the homophobia card.

It seems that people were not fearful enough of the onslaught of anti-ten commandments atheist militants, and it became necessary to also scare the faithful about all of their children being recruited too.

Kentucky's Republican Party funded an automated telephone call to voters in which crooner Pat Boone warns that the election of the Democratic nominee for governor will make the state like San Francisco.

Of course the Party of Jesus candidate lost. Apparently people in Kentucky have a powerful hankering for better restaurants.

What is to become of the Party of Jesus if all of their scare tactics do not get them elected? Will the terr'ists be taking over in Kentucky?

Fundamentalist hate-monger Pat Boone appeared in a recorded phone call used to play the homophobia card. If newspaper editorials and radio talk-show callers are anything to go by, this tactic backfired drastically. People were pissed.

This may be the first time that anything involving Pat Boone became music to my ears.
